Parfait sur 2 jours à part le parc des singes à cet époque pas grand chose à faire et avons loupé la neige à quelque jou

Nombreux Osen nous sont proposés dans l’hôtel qui nous permet de les privatiser. Avions notre Osen privé sur la terrasse ! Les repas délicieux et surtout la délicatesse de la direction et de tout le personnel. Un accueil incroyable ! Hotel traditionnel reste à faire !

L’hôtel mérite d’être refait … très vieillissant. Dormir sur le sol à la japonaise trop dur pour le dos, j’aurais pas pu rester plus longtemps que 2 nuits.

A delightful onsen inn experience with exquisite, seasonal cuisine and a variety of baths.

Classic Japanese onsen inn experience, with exceptional meals (make sure you get dinner and breakfast if you stay here). Kokuya is one of the 2 oldest onsen inns here and has a 400 year history! A highlight is trying out one of their many baths, some open-air.

Nothing- this is my second visit- first was 10 years ago.

Perfect for relaxation as a couple

We liked everything. It was a flawless experience. The staff was fantastic. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the food was delicious and last but not least the onsen were fantastic.

Nothing, it was perfect. If you don't stay for a long time, make sure to reserve your onsen ahead.

Best time to visit maybe should be winter.

Location in Shibu Onsen. The private Onsen at the Inn.

No Bath in room. cannot up-grade to better room due to fully booked. difficult to book for better rooms.

Exceptional

This hotel comes with 8-9 different type of private onsen. Breakfast and omakase dinner are good. Staff are very friendly and polite, they would gather to greet you upon your arrival and gather to waive to say goodbye on your departure. Very good experience to stay at this Ryokan

We would definitely return to share this immersion experience with family and friends.

Absolutely amazing cultural experience. Even the breakfast was multi-course with excellent service and explanation. The dinner was even more amazing with 13 courses of tradition Japanese food excellently prepared. The multi-generational family run aspect of this special traditional Japanese hotel made the entire stay warm and immersive and memorable. The hotel pick up from the station and shuttle to the snow monkey park we’re icing on the cake!

We loved everything about our stay. Some have noted it is more expensive than “equivalent options” but other than the extraordinarily expensive Kanaguya hotel which requires booking months if not years in advance, I am not sure there is an equivalent. We definitely felt that the ecperience was well worth the cost and that we received good value.

Wonderful traditional ryokan in rural onset town

Lovely traditional Japanese ryokan - a very authentic experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. The free shuttle to and from the station and the monkey park was excellent. The food was fantastic especially the shabu shabu which we’d never tried before. We did find sleeping on the futons a little bit uncomfortable but we wanted to experience a traditional ryokan it so it was worth it!
