Poor communication and guest service skills!

The spacious room

The staff had no sense to help us understand that the breakfast needed to be ordered, not a buffet. We saw the buffet room and thought the breakfast was there. So we waited for the breakfast to open and we were sitting at the lobby area waiting. The staff walked past us but no one bothered to offer us any help. In the end we approached the reception about the breakfast. They said we have to place an order then they will bring the breakfast. They didnt tell us all these. They only said that breakfast was at 8.30am - another misleading statement! It was so disappointing that their guest service behaviour has zero common sense! So we decided to eat elsewhere on both the days we there and reduced any communication with staff until we checked out. The management should really look into training the staff on how to communicate to guests.

Cozy and comfortable with heritage touch

The heritage ambience was lovely. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was a la carte and the taste was good.

Room heater could have been turned on at the dining place as well during breakfast and dinner times. Ordered roti and chicken gravy for dinner and the taste was average but pricey.

the scenery. the ambience. though ancient or heritage set up the staff are nice and accommodating. kudos to them for keeping us well provided.

Very good

Hospitality, location & peacefull environment. Recommended for family trips. They arrange cab from Chandigarh/Kalka to Shimla on request.

It was an excellent stay and we spent a very good time with good food and hospitality.

Breakfast was very good with lots of options to choose from. Location was also very nice as it was a quiet place although availability of basic stuff was close by.

A window in our room could not be closed. May be looked into.

Superb

superb food very helpul staff. set in beautiful grounds and a troop of monkeys

it was built in 1903 and looks a little tired but that is made up for by old world charm

Great place to stay for families looking for a peaceful stay

Heritage look of the property and inside heritage amenities, excellent behaviour of Ishwar and Manohar Sharma, peaceful place for families

Lack of understanding among staff regarding cost of food, lack of complimentary breakfast, menu written was confusing for staff as well

It was a very nice stay and my family enjoyed it too.

The property is in good location. All major attractions are in reach from the property. The food is very nice and rooms are very spacious and clean. Its an old palace. The staff is very polite, courteous and helpful especially Mr. Surender Singh and all other members as well. Its very good stay for a family here.

Clean and green stay

Comfortable place amidst heritage location. Mr Bansal took care of all the travel assistance and tours. Decent breakfast and comfy beds. A nice place to stay at a decent cost. Worth staying and highly recommended

The access is a bit narrow as the main road gets jam packed with traffic

Fantastic, would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful room, lovely views. The garden area has a lush view of the local Himalayan mountains. Staff were incredible. Would highly recommend.

Often taxis don’t like to go down there due to traffic rules I didn’t fully understand, so it means sometimes you have to walk around 5 to 10 minutes to get to a bigger road.
