Loved this hotel. I was worried it was a little far to
walk as we got a taxi from the station with our cases which cost over 28CHF!! but once we figured out the free buses and the lift down it was very easy. Staff were very nice. Lovely modern bathroom. Again no minibar which would have really improved things. But most importantly the view of the Matterhorn from our balcony was awesome!

Staff were wonderful - polite, chatty, informative, had dinner great conversations.
Location was great, although a bit of a walk from the main centre of Zermatt. Fantastic view of the Matterhorn from the hotel garden.
Room lovely, lots of wood, bathroom clean.
Not a fan of feather pillows and couldn't find any alternatives in the room. I didn't ask, as not that big of a deal, but would have been nice to have the option of synthetic.
Bathroom design a little odd, the shower was underneath the low slant of the ceiling meaning I had to shower with my head tilted! And I'm only 174cm, if you're tall, you'd need a different room.

Excellent breakfast. Pierre and all the staff were friendly and ready to help. Excellent views of the Matterhorn from the hotel. Location is close to the start of all the main hiking trails and very close to the Matterhorn Express if you wish to see your money disappear quicker than in a casino. It's a short walk to the centre of town. The 571 bus runs from near the hotel to the station (or vice versa) and from the bus stop you can take a lift to near the hotel. All important to know when you have heavy luggage!
I would have liked to have coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms, which is standard in the UK. Even say a coffee machine somewhere in the common area. Especially desirable as the reception is unstaffed after 8. Bath towels were too small and lightweight.
