Perfect location and venue for families

Love the location, facilities, property and quality of the room. Fantastic property with room for kids to move around safely, go for a nice walk and see the kangaroos or just sit on the balcony and enjoy a sunset. Great room (2bed villa) with plenty of space for a family of 4 and no stresses with safety.

Great cottage with three families!! Comfy and clean beds. Loved the pool and tennis court.

Tv antenna was playing up. Need to sharpen the knives That’s it.

A quiet but comfortable mid week stay.

Clean and comfortable. Close to bakery with good options for breakfast and lunch.

Coffee shops and cafes closed early. Hard for a solo traveller to find meals and coffee midweek and out of peak season.

Wine weekend with hubby!

Very well appointed unit, with great shower and very comfy bed. The unit has a nice lounge area with a small fridge, kettle, a great selection of teas and coffee and a toaster and microwave. Also, very decent sized wine glasses and coffee mugs! There is a separate bedroom, bathroom and a small verandah. The location is great, as it’s within walking distance of some wineries, one of the gin distilleries and a very good restaurant next door. There is also a great cafe in the village open for breakfast and lunch, a general store and bottle shop

Beautiful stay in the heart of the Hunter 💗

Amazing location! Close to all the vineyards and so peaceful even though it's just off the main road. A highlight was waking up to kangaroos just outside the bedroom window. The rooms are spacious and clean and the fridge/freezer was the perfect size. İt was that good that we wanted to extend our stay but it's a popular place and was fully booked the next night. Communication with staff in the leadup and after the trip was brilliant.

The only thing I would say is that we went midweek and the restaurants were shut but the Blaxland Arms was right next door and served delicious food. Also, we didn't realise that we could have gotten a discount in the shops while we were staying there as didn't read the small print on the card until we were checking out. Our fault for not reading it properly but it would have been helpful if we'd been told that when we checked in at Reception.

Amazing - Better than Expected

We absolutely loved our stay at Pokolbin Village Estate. The Retreat is the ultimate for Large Families, with plenty of room for all members of the family to enjoy. The pool table and arcade game was a wonderful surprise and enjoyed by all. The Estate facilities such as Tennis Courts, swimming pools, Petting Farm as well as cafe, Chocolate & Cheese shops meant there was always something for every member of the family to enjoy without leaving the Estate. The location is fantastic, with short walks or drive to a range of Wineries and Attractions. We highly recommend Pokolbin Village Estate and The Retreat.

Very good

Loved the openess of the village in the day time, (was difficult to see anything at night). I thought the animal farm was a great idea, loved the kangaroos and kookaburras. The cabin was lovely, clean and spacious, the bathroom very clean. The coffee and tea facilities were very generous, especially the milk !

It was very difficult for us when we arrived late at night to find our villa- no. 311. We were given instructions via sms that morning which was great, however we drove around for over 10mins trying to find it. It would be a good idea to have more written signage with directions, not just numbers to villas and sensor lights as well. We did enjoy our stay though, it was really comfortable, clean with more than enough room for the 4 of us adults.

Good Wine Country getaway.

Good location. Comfortable room with all the amenities to dine in if you desire.

The Wi-Fi was spotty. Smart TV would not hookup to Wi-Fi due to week signal.

A great place to stay

Roomy and comfy rooms. Close to all wineries and places to see. We had a problem on arrival that the electrics had blown and the staff, out of hours, came out and were able to solve it.

The Great Hunter experience

everything was a great experience for the family - very grateful for the accommodation which was disabled- friendly (cottage 301). grandchildren enjoyed the kangaroos and view of the petting farm. The BBQ was excellent- clean and in good condition. The General Store had most of the "emergency" food needs. Reception staff were very friendly, and check-in was quite smoooth. very close to the Gardens for the Christmas lights. wll definitely stay again.

the weather was a bummer- cancelled our balloon flight (which gives us reason to go back), and hailstorm triggered the alarms in the cottage- which we found 😂 hilarious in the end.
