La ubicación
El trato de la recepcionista de la noche. El baño y las almohadas huelen mal, la cafetera quebrada

This hotel is unique in that it feels like it was once a plaza or neighborhood that has been transformed into a hotel. The interior is almost like a walking street that meanders around the buildings with stairs and bridges connecting the upper levels. It feels a bit magical. The lobby entrance is on an actual walking street that leads to the historic downtown area of Zacatecas. Just about everything a tourist would want to visit is walking distance from this spot. The staff were very helpful and the room we were given was actually a suite with spacious rooms, two tvs., two queen beds, and three balconies. Highly recommended.

The colonial house is beautiful, well located, clean and comfortable, staff is nice and helpful.
Nothing. Maybe a desk to work in the room would be desirable, but everything was great.

Both beds were very hard. One of used a blanket to try to make it softer, but there was only 1 extra blanket.
Coffee in the restaurant was very weak.

It was wonderful to be able to catch a cab from the bus station, be able to walk around town, and then catch an Uber out of city center to other towns nearby.
My coworker complained about not having a wash towel (small towels), but not having one was not an issue for me and I paid for our room.

it’s a lovely place, in the middle of downtown
the beds were a little uncomfortable

Size of room, bed, furnishings, all very good. Difficult to fin though. google maps takes you to the wrong side of the hotel and downtown Zacatecas is difficult to navigate. They had to come and find us and drove us there.

room needs repairs; toilet paper holder fell off wall while retrieving paper; was not replaced just removed. bath tub wall were cracked: shower handles were barely functional; toilet barely functional and toilet handle felt like it was going to break away after every flush.

The large size of our suite which had lots of light and air through three french doors, each with juliet balconies decorated with pots of geraniums hanging off them in iron rings. The bathroom was marble, the hot water was hot! As in many Mexican hotels there is no mini fridge in the room but there was an ice machine close by, always filled with bags of ice.
The history of the hotel is wonderful, ask the staff about it, and the interior passageways used to be actual stone streets, the rooms are in old buildings which are all modernized and the whole effect is like a real version of the quaintness that Disneyland tries to recreate.
The staff is wonderful. Gracious, calm, welcoming and though they didn't speak much English and we didn't speak much Spanish we all managed the check in and any requests during our stay just fine.
The location is great! Just minutes to walk to the cathedral, the Rafael Coronel aka 'The Mask' museum, the Alameda, the Acropolis restaurant, and there are so many other restaurants and shops all around. It truly is smack in the middle of El Centro.
The location is also quiet because the hotel fronts on a charming little pedestrian plaza but parking is not an issue if you bring a car, as the back of the hotel fronts on a street where you can temporarily park till the wonderful doormen valet park your car for your visit. You're not likely to need it during your stay but if you do, you'll need to let them know about 20 minutes in advance as their parking lot is off-site.
The hotel was nearly empty while we were there so it wasn't very animated. This made it more apparent that the small bar and even the generously sized, multi-level restaurant could use a little more warmth and character in the decor, to make them more inviting. The setting of the hotel itself is so charming and the food was good.
They just need a little more 'life' in the two venues and maybe, not only more guests would stay in for the evenings, but they might also get outside visitors. However they keep the main door locked at all times, so perhaps they prefer to keep the hotel exclusively for guests.

wonderful old facility with some history of it's own. clean rooms and helpful staff. some of the rooms needed some maintenance hot water issues, my hairdryer wanted to explode, but a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. One irritation was that we had to ask daily for the coffee for our in room coffeemakers. location was perfect. one block up from the main drag, a few blocks walk to the cathedral.
had to ask for our in room coffee every day!

the beds are very uncomfortable, despite being very tired, we have a hard time falling asleep with that type of mattress
The water in the shower was either cold or only lukewarm, perhaps the first one had hot water, but the others did not.
We fill with welts, it seems that there were mosquitoes or something similar.

Due to a family emergency we had to check out a day early. The employee who checked us out early in the morning was really great. She explained everything, presented options and helped us with transportation. She went beyond her duty and made the process smooth.
The manager in the restaurant was friendly at first but because I have a food allergy we attempted to check the morning breakfast buffet to see if I could eat anything there. She came in with an ¨ attitude¨ and told us to enter the buffet area through the proper door. The problem was that there were two doors but no sign saying which was an entrance and which was the exit. As the Peruvians say; no one is born knowing. We asked her to point to the sign so that we could know which door was which. Of course she could not since the signs did not exist. Meanwhile, there was nothing that I could eat as a breakfast because the buffet had foods that I am used to seeing on lunch menus and many items made with eggs. I asked for a cup of hot chocolate and a roll and she said that it would be 110 pesos which I would gladly pay. The whole episode was distasteful and could have been handled in a cheerful, polite way. In the end she gave me the free breakfast while my partner got the free hotel breakfast. I didn´t speak Spanish ( my problem ) but had I known that she was going to not charge me I would haver insisted on paying the 110 pesos ( $5.51 US). I wasn´t asking for any favors but my Mexican partner took care of it and did not tell me until later. We avoided that restaurant in the hotel from then on and I would not go back there. Meanwhile there are many friendly restaurants all around the hotel. I enjoyed many of them.
