The property is absolutely dreamy and the location was fab. You see endless marine beauty and bluest of the blue water around. There is a small beach section as well near the restaurant that has chairs to sit back and relax.I stayed in Deluxe Water Villa which is super spacious and has one of the most interesting bathroom where you can see fishes and manta ray as well swimming below.
The villa was 10/10. But I recommend to go with regular villa or beach cottages as overall the experience stays the same and you will be hardly in room.
There is a seaplane that should be preferred from the airport charging 440 USD both sides per person as boat ride is 2 hours long and was mismanaged by the service provider for me at the airport losing 3 hours .
The staff helped me with seaplane seat only when I called them, they did not bother to check from the service provider on their guest boarding the boat which was supposed to be my original transport arranged through the contact resort gave me.
The same fish curry was served for the 2 days I was there, the food menu was pretty much the same for all days which is very boring. I understand for diversity of guests safe options were kept but food does not justify the cost. It was average and repetitive. The staff is quite friendly by every activity is overpriced and overcharged. Even as a Deluxe Water Villa guest I couldn’t not a free water bottle from the bar. That was quite disappointing.

Gangehi is a beautiful resort island with white sandy beaches. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, and it was a truly special experience to be surrounded by completely harmless sharks swimming around us. Maximum comfort and cleanliness awaited us, and every single member of the staff was incredibly kind. Everything here is provided for perfect relaxation. We highly recommend not missing the snorkeling programs offered by the Diving Center. The resort’s cuisine is fantastic and also offers Italian dishes. We would definitely come back.

Staff was great. This hotel is truly niche and it allows you to enjoy an intimate stay while benefitting from an eco sustainable resort. The over water villas, especially the deluxe, are magical. Food and hospitality staff is top quality with so many options.

Some extra benefits for who are staying at the overwater deluxe villas would be welcomed.
Improve the WiFi reliability.
Some extra options when it comes to snacks during the day (smoothies, juices and food) - I would improve the bar so that more options are available to purchase.
Some extra options when it comes to gluten free.

My partner and I visited Gangehi for a week and we had a wonderful stay at the resort. We went scuba diving, snorkelling and canoeing around the island and did plenty of lounging around too! The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was varied and delicious and the island is a stunning tropical paradise. The diving around the island is also brilliant with so many large fish to see like mantas and sharks. We will definitely be back to explore more of the local dive sights and sea creatures and chill out again at Gangehi in the future.
