Best Western Hotel & Casino Kamuk

Our stay at Best Western Kamuk was amazing. Breakfast was served at descent time, enough time for late sleepers. I liked that the breakfast was a variety of options. The location of the hotel is perfect for family or couple. It has an awesome view to the boardwalk you can see the ocean and the scenic was beautiful. The service was excellent; housekeeping did a good job. They don't bother you if you don't need service and the staff are always friendly and willing to help with anything. We booked a water rafting from the hotel the front desk staff helped us with that which was great because we didn't have to go to the office to book our outing adventure. Definitely recommend this Hotel for your stay in Quepos, Costa Rica.

It can get too noise late night due to some cars have loud sound. But other than that, there wasn't anything I dislike about the hotel or location at all. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was great as well. I have no issues at all with this hotel or the services.

Starts, the room had a brief smell to urine, not quite unbearable though. The bathroom is handicapped, which we were not expecting as the shower floor does not have a limit against the actual bath floor, so water may flow throughout it and can lead you to slip. The beds were horrific, you could actually felt the resorts popping. The TV speakers were already exploded, so quite horrific sound.

The hotel is small and located on the road facing the sea. It has 4 floors, and the rooms face either a small pool or the sea. I stayed in a sea-view room on the fourth floor, with a balcony and an amazing view. The sunset and sunrise were spectacular, and this was definitely the most beautiful part of the stay. The room itself was nice, clean, comfortable, spacious, and equipped with a minibar and a coffee machine. In terms of the room and the view, the experience was very good.

However, breakfast was a terrible and extremely disappointing experience. Breakfast is served on the third floor, in an open corner terrace with no windows and no air conditioning, in unbearable heat. Beyond the discomfort, the most serious issue was the massive presence of birds in the area. There were large flocks of birds flying inside the dining area, walking on guests’ tables, getting into guests’ plates, and also walking on the buffet tables. It was unbearable. If you get up from the table even for a moment, the birds immediately start pecking at the food on your plate. In my opinion, this kind of contact between birds and food is a real and serious health hazard, including the risk of food contamination and illnesses such as salmonella. This is a very serious hygiene and food safety issue. The quality and variety of the food were also extremely poor. What the hotel calls a “breakfast buffet” was, in reality, absolutely minimal — one of the most limited breakfasts imaginable. The next morning, even the small minimum that had been available the previous day was reduced even further. The food is placed on the tables from 6:30 a.m. When I arrived after 9:00 a.m., the jug of yogurt had been standing there without refrigeration for a long time. The yogurt had become watery and had dried around the rim of the jug. The scrambled eggs looked gray due to excessive heating. There were no vegetables, and cheese was available only once. The overall feeling was that there was a complete lack of care or investment in hotel guests. In addition, it seems that the hotel also hosts external guests for breakfast for an extra payment, and they appear to receive a wider level of service, while hotel guests receive the absolute minimum, at a very low standard.
