Great family vacation on a beautiful island.
The staff were so friendly and helpful

Super freundliches und hilfsbereiten Personal. Besonderer hervorzuheben ist der persönliche Einsatz des Hotelmanagers, der sich rührend um seine Gäste kümmert und alle Problemchen schnell und effizient aus der Welt schafft.
Lange Schlangen beim Lifecooking. Sehr einfache Silvestershow

The location is what brings us as a family back to Mana year after year. Yes, there are better resorts but it's where it is that overrides a five-star resort on the mainland. The pool is great, the beaches fantastic, and our room was the 2-storey beachfront unit so has heaps of room for four adults. The food can be hit and miss but is slowly improving. This is a beach getaway location in Fiji so it may not be quite what you would expect but all round it is a great family resort.
More options for food - they used have a restaurant for lunch and dinner on the south side but is now only open on certain days for a-la-carte meals, which is very expensive but well worth it if you are a foodie or just want a nice romantic meal. Definitely more umbrellas and deck chairs would be ideal - have to get up early for those.

Location, package included breakfast and dinner, plenty of variety

Staff is very friendly
Internet/wifi to be paid and is expensive

Staff were very polite and helpful
Room had air con, comfortable bed and toiletries
Food buffet had a good selection
Lovely welcome and check in process
Use of snorkel gear and Kayaks free of charge
Had to pay extra for Wi-Fi and not always a strong connection. Price is also per device.
Drinks (soft and alcoholic) not included in price
Gym facilities very basic and small
Connection to Yasawa islands difficult from this location - have to travel back to Port Denauru and then get connection. Timings of ferries do not align so will have to stay on mainland for a night to catch connections - bear in mind when booking!

Great beaches for snorkling good food options warm weather resort was well spread out it never seemed very busy
The food was good but could have been to a higher standard for the price compared to other resorts in the area the toilets by the pool area could have been serviced more

Mana island have the best ocean view like paradise and the room price include breakfast and dinner. The foods not bad. The staffs are friendly everyone say "Bula" when we meet each other. You can enjoy the snorkeling and kayaking for free that's exciting and amazing.
The double bed room is not double bed rather than two single beds combined. The curtains can't be closed completely. All the facilities need to be replaced now because the resort had been in business for almost 50 years and was not enough to support many modern needs.

The staff and facilities are great. It's a great Fijian hospitality. The food is amazing.
And restaurants offer fine dining as well where you have to pay for dining.
You can run out of things to do after 2 or 3 days. The boutique shop needs to stock more cigarettes as if you run out of it, there is no other place for you to buy cigarettes at the resort.

Location and snorkeling was great. Beach very nice, great buffet breakfast and dinner options - 3 different restaurants to choose from and one of them has a different theme each night - I'm surprised by reviews saying lack of food options, maybe it depends on time of year. Good activities.
We booked a bungalow and were surprised that some are co-joining, only separated by a thin wall and door. Had a family with small children next to us and they may as well have been in our room it was that noisy and the noise started at 6am. Thankfully we did a room swap on day 2 but it was a bit of a hassle.
Some hidden charges at the end, we were told snorkel gear was free but there is an environmental charge added when checking out. Not a big deal and we're happy to pay that, but would be nice to be told about this!

Location and staff were great. Food was good.
Room needed a lot of upgrading

The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
They were getting ready to film Surviver when we were there and we were unable to access some of the island. Also most of the activities were non existent as they were due to close the island to visitors on the day we left. We feel we paid for but did not get the whole package because of this. We should have been informed when we booked that Surviver was to be filmed there and that activities would be winding down which would have given us the opportunity to book elsewhere. Also felt that the gardens and buildings were in need of some TLC (although it did rain extensively when we were there which would have affected their ability to garden).

The resort was not very busy so there were no crowds at the restaurants, beaches and pools.
The bure had just had a new mattress on the bed fitted.
The staff were friendly as usual.
The bure was a bit tired and needs an upgrade.
The lounge was stained and the wardrobe door was broken.
Could have done with additional food options as due to the low occupancy one restaurant was closed.

Amazing natural beauty. A true tropical island. Brilliant snorkelling straight off the beach. Pool area, bar and surrounds also very well done.
Ocean view Bure Rooms were only barely cleaned daily and the block has been allowed to run down since we last visited. Other than breakfast, not many real food options or variety but it was ok. It appears as the owners are running the resort as a 2nd fiddle to hosting US Survivor show annually. Money needs to be reinvested into the resort as it truly has the potential to be something great.

It was clean, but nothing that special. Just a regular big hotel.

Beautiful views and beach. Property in need of updating. Food terrible.
Outdated rooms. Terrible food.

ferry fair to the island and back is too expensive

Mana Island is beautiful 🌺. The northern beach is gorgeous with great snorkeling. The resort staff are friendly, good buffet breakfast, great pool area for the kids and fun activities offered for adults and kids club.
The only downfall was the high cost of the ferry transfer to get there. Luckily it helps that the Resort is pretty amazing and relaxing 😉

The beaches and reefs were great for swimming
It was very loud and busy, lots of kids running around. We stayed around the 500’s and it was very far away from everything, which was good and bad. Missing more adults only sections and bars.

The warm friendly staff and great service
Looks like there was a staff shortage as I couldn't get a spa booking for a massage during the 3 nights stay. I was told they were booked out, and the spa phone wasn't answered at all

Mana is a beautiful island a short boat trip from
Nadi. We arranged a private transfer as we arrived late at night, so left Denarau on the Mamanuka Express and arrived at Mana at about 11.30pm. The staff were there to meet us and escort us to our rooms. The view upon waking was lovely. We stayed in the deluxe ocean view rooms which were comfortable but a bit dated and some damage to the doors and windows from wear and tear.
The kids loved sharing the room and we were happy enough.
The pool and the beach were great, our kids loved being in the water all the time, but the pool is pretty dated and to more of an ‘island’ standard than what you may expect! Some damage really needs repairs, especially with small kids everywhere.
This is a very family friendly resort and there were kids everywhere. If a romantic couple’s vacation is your idea I’m not sure I would recommend this.
Our kids used the Kids Club and the nanny service, both were great.
We thoroughly enjoyed a half day boat tour with snorkelling and island hopping, a real highlight for the whole family. We also went diving and this operation was well run and professional, we had a lovely morning. Kayaks, snorkelling gear etc was good condition, but the lay out of the island is a bit off as you can only get snorkelling gear on the north side of the island, which is NOT the beach activities side?! Very confusing. The beach on the north was great for reef snorkelling and we saw some beautiful fish and small animals and one shark. Just have to swim out to the reef so take reef shoes. Some blue bottles appeared in our last few days so always check with staff before going in, you don’t want those nasty stingers!!
The food at Mana really spoiled our trip. The ‘5’ restaurants they claim is simply not correct - there is one main buffet style restaurant that serves food day and night, you can also order Al La Carte here which they claim as another restaurant, and the attached Bar area is ‘another’ restaurant (same menu!). The fancier adults only restaurants were only catering to small numbers. We didn’t eat at the Teppanyaki restaurant but did have a meal at South Beach Restaurant. It was nicer than the buffet but still very expensive for what it was.
The Buffet at night was expensive for what it was, but 7 days with only 1 Al La Carte menu meant limited options, especially for vegetarians or GF eaters.
Unfortunately 3 out of 12 members of our group got food poisoning, and the 2 children had to evacuate the island for Nadi Hospital for fluids and antibiotics. This really ruined our trip and meant we were very wary of the foods we were eating.
The breakfast options were the better part to the day and if you’re not too worried about what you’re eating, maybe it wouldn’t bother you, but for the money we were spending we felt that the limited food options plus the food hygiene really did not meet our expectations or the ‘4 star’ claims.
Both the swim up bar and Vonu beach bar were closed for more than half our trip, which was also disappointing, especially the beach bar, as drinks were only available on the other side of the island so someone was continually walking back and forth if we wanted a beach day.

From the moment we arrived on the ferry we felt welcome at Mana. The staff was over the top helpful and kind. They were working so hard to ensure we had a great time! Food was great, beaches were beautiful, and we loved the snorkeling and spa.
1.0
The village boat that took us surfing and the snorkeling options. Accomodation was fair.
The presentation of the resort. The missing items from our room - pillows, bedsheets, towels. We couldn’t initially get into our room and either could housekeeping. The lack of staff at the bar.

Nice bure, very clean. Beautiful beach
Our toilet wasn't working all that great and ran a lot

The beach was awesome
The room was disgusting, sheets were torn, curtains were frayed, There was only one bedside table, poor lighting, not enough power plugs. You had to plug the kettle in the bathroom to make tea and coffee. No fresh milk provided, no water provided. Food was of a very poor quality. It is definitely overpriced and no value for money.

Variety of food was good
Limited shade or umbrellas by the pool. As a result we didn't get to use the pool much at all.

Wonderful location on a beautiful island, with access to two stunning beaches (north and south). Excellent pool area. Lovely gardens, and our garden view bure was nicely spaced and private from others. Lovely open-air shower space (private). Good quality, free to use snorkelling equipment and sea kayaks. Decent snorkelling views directly from both beaches.
Everyone was friendly, staff always smiling, service was relaxed and good. Room tidied daily.
Yes, it's a bit old and tired in appearances (particularly compared to newer, fancy resorts), but in our opinion it added to the rustic charm. It's the most expensive place we've stayed (we're used to backpackers), but it's the cheaper side of 'resort' accommodation, and reasonable value for being able to access a jewel of the Mamanuca Islands! We still thought it luxurious, but it's hard not to feel like you're in paradise here.
Appeared very family friendly, with plenty of activities, and access to games, and day trips (e.g. local island visits, fishing). We found ourselves pleasantly occupied with relaxing between pool, beach and room. The only outting we did was a handline fishing trip (be warned, fishing is not great in the area, despite the beautiful fish around the reefs).
Overall, the biggest drawcard is the location and natural surrounds - would recommend for anyone wanting to stay on the island in a comfortable, affordable accommodation, but who are not necessarily looking for a lavish, luxurious resort experience. Recommend to stay 5-8 days for a decent relax. Come with the right expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised!
A few cons
- Kayaking area was limited to the resort beach so unable to go around the island.
- Bed was not particularly comfortable (soft but worn and not especially supportive). Pillows were average.
- The small fridge in our room was old and very loud, so had to turn it off overnight to sleep.
- Wifi access had to be paid for (and was expensive) - however, we didn't purchase any and I would highly recommend disconnecting from internet for your stay, if you can!
- Food was on the average side (by Aussie foodie standards), considering the prices - but understandable considering the exclusive resort location. The better meals at their main restaurant were from the 'Kura' asian menu. We skipped lunch most days after a big breakfast and some snacks. We ate a couple of dinners at the backpackers further on south beach, which were better value. (We did have a lovely 'fine dining' meal at their fancy restaurant, which was delicious but probably more expensive as a high quality meal in Aus)
- Drinks we're about 1.5 - 2x the price as in Denarau restaurants and 2-3x price of the Denarau supermarket so we bought our own beer to drink in the room. No need to bring water though, the tap water was drinkable and tasty!
