Overall it's good value for money. I chose Matra for it is directly beside my favourite yoga spot (Pranava yoga) and Nyomnyom cafe (Matra guests also get a 5% discount at the cafe so ask for it). It's very clean, and staff provide room cleaning and a change of towels every 2 days. They have limited check-in time so if you arrive late at night, make sure to communicate with them via WhatsApp the day before to make the necessary arrangements. The staff is generally friendly and welcoming.
However, I must add that the room had an incredible number of mosquitoes, much more than other guesthouses I've been to in Bali! I'm not sure why this was the case as the room is air-conditioned and I always kept the bathroom door shut. There was also no visible gaps or holes apart from the bathroom. But I always found mosquitoes resting on the mosquito net and spend around 30mins each night hunting them prior to sleeping! The day that I turned off the AC for longer prior to coming back, I killed around 20 mosquitoes. Weirdly, I had not a single bite - but was freaked out nonetheless by the number of mosquitoes. Make sure to tuck the net under the bed for safety!
