Guesthouse Holmur was a family-run guesthouse on a property about 18ks before Hofn. I'd originally wanted to stay in Hofn but was unable, so managed to book in at Holmur. It was in a rural setting with glaciers as a magnificent backdrop. The husband spoke very good English and was playing the piano beautifully when I arrived. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were clean.
The only downside was the downstairs shared bathroom shower, which did not drain very well at all.

We had the two rooms in the same house and had the whole house for ourselves, with bathroom, kitchen and washing machine/dryer.
So we could prepare our dinner and make a laundry.
Bedding was comfortable.
Breakfast was cold and good with several fruits and ham/cheese.
This is a farm: a bit isolated and with cats and dogs. It was nice for us, for not for everybody.
Arrival time is precise. Also not a problem for us that day.

I like the location very much . I have been there before, many years ago ( 10 ) when everything was blooming. I liked everything then. Now my room was ok, comfortable but not tasteful, the bed was good, the wi-fi was good. After the breakfast the host played a beautiful song on the piano, which followed my soul all day. Very nice.
The nature was still sleeping ( winter ), and the houses have not been kept well so there was an aire of tristesse over the place. The host was unpersonal ( except for the piano in the end ) and is wife did not talk to us at all, even though she was there.
