Inside the room. The comfortable bed & thick soft pillow, the body bath smells so good🥰

The toilet @ level 1 is so…dirty! For goodness sake, it’s a hotel! Not a coffee-shop! Should just fill up the uand soap bottle with the body bath as the hand soap smell is ugh! The manager. Got issues when checking in cause I’ve requested way earlier for a spectacular view as it’s my husband’s birthday, I bet they didn’t even read the message & gave us a room facing a cramp street with a temple view infont! I’s so dissapointed & I can see the dissapointment on my hubby’s face! As it’s a special day for him, he knows that the hotel cock-up! The staff called & talk to the manager but he doesn’t allow us to change or upgrade the room despite it’s their mistake for not reading & replying to the message. After some time arguing (in a calm manner) & returned the 🔑 back to the counter, finally the staff showed me to another room which is 2 single bed instead of a queen size bed which I’ve already informed him earlier that we don’t mind single bed as long as the balcony have partial nice view rather that a tight road facing the temple. Finally we settled down @ that room. Thank You to Saddam for being patient with us as he also aware how frustrated we were & also to Jarina for her friendly service. The management should appreciate these staffs as they were multi-tasking supposed to manage the counter but was surprised to see they were rushing doing all the cleaning services as there’s not enough manpower. @ least they should be given extra pay or even a bonus as they are doing 2 jobs @ 1 time! Should take care of these type of staffs welfare very well rather than losing em. They really used their energy trying their best to manage the hotel. Since the management already saved some money for not having extra manpower, why not adjust their pay for their hard work! Friendly reminder, *please appreciate yr staffs*

Good location, walking distance to many of the things we came to Malacca to see, and to restaurants, Jonkers St, markets, etc. Very helpful staff, especially the young lady at reception when we arrived (and most subsequent days). But there were a number of problems.

1. We arrived at 3:30pm, the room was supposed to be available from 3:00pm. It was like they weren't expecting us, much discussion between the staff, then we were asked to wait "10 minutes" while the room was prepared. Some time later we were given access to the room. 2. But the only lift wasn't working! 3 storeys up to our room, 68 steps each way every time we wanted to go to or from our room. I'm aged 79 with bad knees, I deliberately only booked hotels on our Malaysian trip that had lift access to upper floors. At least the staff helped carry our luggage up on arrival, but not back down on departure. 3. We booked one of the better rooms, an Executive Suite, which was supposed to be larger, including a sitting area, with chairs and a small table as shown in the pictures on the website - our room didn't have this sitting area, nor was there room for one. But one day I happened to see inside the room next door, which was larger with a sitting area. I wonder if we were given the correct room? 4. The advertised room safe was permanently locked open, with no key. I later learned that all room safes were supposed to be removed when the hotel last changed ownership. 5. The bathroom floor flooded every time we used the shower. The cleaner told us it always did that because the drain in the shower recess didn't work, but in fact it was because the shower floor sloped AWAY from the drain, not towards it, so the water had to find another floor outlet under the handbasin. Very inconvenient, and very hard to fix. 6. Other minor inconveniences like the "kettle" which was a strange Chinese device with about a dozen buttons and no instructions - even the cleaner didn't know how to use it - we finally worked it out by trial and error. And our room wasn't serviced until I complained and was finally told that if we wanted it serviced, we had to press a button by the door when we left each day.
