The views! Stunning, inspiring, calming. Very friendly host, nice breakfast and room is brilliantly equipped with everything you need smartly fitted in a cupboard with fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee, tea, water, glasses, plates, etc.
Location also 10/10, ample parking, gorgeous lawn in front for sitting and night-stargazing.

A pretty colonial style bungalow surrounded by a rose bushes. Friendly and very helpful hosts. Excellent position within easy walking distance of Kaikoura town. Very good breakfasts. I wish we had been able to stay longer.
The guy who wife runs the B&B work offshore on cable laying ships and showed me a piece of old submarine cable he had dredged up of the coast of Nova Scotia. It turns out that it was probably a part of the first transatlantic cable laid laid in 1854 and manufactured by the company my father worked for in London.
Ask about the aeroplane being built in the garage!

We had such an amazing stay at Bendamere House! So glad we decided to take it easy and do 3 nights cos even then it wasn’t enough. The room was impeccable, the location is fantastic, the views were amazing and the hosts were just perfect! Julie was so warm and welcoming and she bakes THE most amazing melt-in-your-mouth shortbread! We absolutely LOVED this place!
