Our second time there, and the owners remembered us and gave us the room we had before. Also as we had two vehicles they were very accommodating with extra parking. Nice and handy to the beach and very clean.
A shelf in the kitchen area to store food that we brought would be handy but that is the only thing I can think of.

the property was super clean, the location was amazing (you could see both the ocean and the Kaikoura ranges from your window, stunning!). It was pretty quiet, the bed was comfy and the hosts had left some nice touches like milk to get you started and a bunch of blankets.
If you're sensitive to the cold, I'd be aware that there's only one fixed heater in the cottage I was in as well as an electric heating mattress pad. The latter did an amazing job to keep me warm through the night, but outside of the bed I personally was freezing. However, take that with a grain of salt as I've also been freezing in some places up in Auckland at warmer temperatures inside. I didn't reach out to the hosts (so they could have probably done something about it), as I wanted to return to Christchurch sooner anyway.

Nice spot. Good location. Beach accross the road. My husband and I had a wonderful time walking by the beach.
Comfortable bed and kitchen had stove top and utensils. The bathroom spacious and clean.
The room was a bit smelly. I sprayed room freshener a few times. Other than that, no issues at all.
