The Bearslake Inn is a beautiful, old thatched building with a bubbling stream running through the garden. We were staying overnight having arrived from Plymouth off the Spain ferry and driving on to London with our two dogs. The Inn's location was ideal - about an hour out of Plymouth and an easy drive to Exeter and the M5. Its setting is beautiful and both we and the dogs loved it. We had a nice spacious room and an excellent evening meal in the friendly bar. The outstanding feature of our visit was the delightful staff that we encountered all of whom could not have been more helful. Thanks Guys! Only downside: the breakfast hamper idea was not really a success, both in terms of its contents and our ability to find space to consume it! Apart from that - a brilliant place to stay in the middle of Dartmoor.
As stated above, the breakfast hamper was not a success.

Great setting, great vibe, wonderful staff and dinners. Large, comfortable room.
Smoke alarm policy with a warning about shower steam possibly setting off the fire alarm.

The room was comfortable and clean.
Being charged extra for a hot breakfast option.
We vape and although the garden was extensive we were limited to a tiny corner with no seating not acceptable when paying a decent price.
