All the staff were really friendly bar one lady who just moaned the whole time, mainly about the guests or her workload.
They had an interesting menu and a good wine list.
The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. The gammon steak was very thick but still cooked perfectly.
The traditional fry up was plentiful and delicious.
I am not a fan of cold toast. I ordered poached egg on toast. The eggs were beautifully cooked but the toast was stone cold, the butter hadn’t even melted. We ordered more toast but that also arrived cold. There was a toaster by the coffee station but the staff said they preferred not to use it.
That evening I ordered ribs. They came nowhere close to falling off the bone. I requested a steak knife to cut through them but was forced to give up after 2.

The location in North Devon is fabulous. We had a lovely welcome after a hellish journey and everything was very relaxed. The room was beautifully, tastefully appointed with all you could possibly need. It was very quiet at night. Car parking very close to our room. Breakfast excellent and evening meal superb. The Inn has a little shop selling local produce and artisan products, and there is a great little cafe for a cuppa and a cake. There is also an honesty box larder, with all you may need. Sheepwash is a charming village set in the most stunning countryside, with a river running along the valley. The locals were very welcoming and really pleasant to speak to. An amazing stay!
