Well it's a pretty well decorated and laid out pub, but it's ALL about the pub. I wouldn't recommend staying there unless you have a car and there's no other choice. There's some nice touches like "free nightcap station" but with only whisky and brandy yeah free but what about non drinkers and kids - easy solved. I liked the room decor although dated, but there was too much bad for us to go back.
My big hate was that the net curtains in the room were black with mould truly. I'm not ott fussy, but black mould all over them - I have an allergy and I mentioned to owner - she said they were only washed 2 weeks ago but they have a problem with damp/windows and the curtains get mouldy! It's not good enough - if they get mouldy don't put them up or get dehumidifiers or sort windows out - it was disgusting (and so was response). The room was wrong (despite me booking a twin and emails back from owners saying it was a twin, got there to a double), was made to feel guilty when asking to change - found some staff quite hostile in fact. If you don't have a car book somewhere else, the roads aren't walkable and there's very little public transport. If you need a cab forget it.
