Very lovely Inn. Partially rebuilt areas after fire. Very sympathetically restored and furnished well. Beautiful bedroom area and landing with grand oak staircase up to rooms. Very pleasant restaurant area

The George Inn has been beautifully and tastefully rebuilt to the highest standards and with real attention to detail. It's beautifully presented, very clean and the photos of the Inn's long history are fascinating.
The room was luxurious and very comfortable, and a lovely place to enjoy a quiet evening and a good sleep after what had been a stressful day.
We ate our evening meal downstairs and found the food excellent, and we also enjoyed our breakfast, which was well prepared and in nice quiet surroundings.
The staff were lovely and made us very welcome.
The parking at the rear of the hotel is a little difficult to find even with the correct postcode, but quickly popping in for directions set us on the right track. The key is to turn right once you pass the Co-op and to then carry on to the right even though it might feel slightly counter-intuitive at first. Once you reach the end of the little 'road' it's very clear that you are at the back of the George, and it's good parking.

The bed was comfortable.
The bathroom had a large shower, very clean
On arrival there were a number of people in the bar who were rather worse for wear, loud and swearing.
