The location is excellent – just a couple of minutes’ walk from Cuba Street, so it’s very convenient if you want to explore central Wellington on foot. Free parking is also a big bonus in this part of the city. Our room on the 5th floor was spacious, clean and sunny, with plenty of room to feel comfortable. Overall, the property was clean and well located, and having free on-site parking made our stay much easier.
The downside of being so close to Cuba Street is the noise, particularly on a Saturday night. Despite being on the 5th floor, we were woken repeatedly by police sirens during the night. When we arrived, police were actually dealing with someone just outside reception, and the property has additional security measures in place overnight. While this is obviously not something the motel can control, it did affect how relaxed we felt about the location at night.
The room was heated by a portable electric heater, which made worrying crackling/clicking noises throughout the night and sounded at times as though something might be wrong with it. It definitely needs checking.
The TV was also unnecessarily difficult to operate. It took quite a bit of patience and trial and error before we managed to get something playing.

Security lights on all night did not sleep well. Staff were rude when approached about off street parking. Told me I should not have arrived late. Cook straight ferry was delayed. Off street parking was on the street.
