I stay in a lot of hotels - usually in the Marriott brand. Since Wellington doesn't have any of their hotels here, I chose the Intrepid because of the ratings, although I was a little apprehensive.
I arrived late and the hotel desk was closed, so I went into the wine bar in the back and the bartender was very helpful in getting me squared away. As soon as I got into the room, I was completely isolated from the lively lobby on the ground floor. I walked into a quiet, spacious room, and onto a very comfortable bed and had a great night's sleep.
I stayed here for 6 nights and never had any problems with the room or staff, Everything was great.
If Marriott decides to move into Wellington, it wouldn't matter because I would gladly stay here again.
