The staff was very friendly. It was a unique, authentic experience. There seemed to be some long-term guests, who were very pleasant too. There was ping pong and a pool table, which was nice during the time we spent in the hotel. All in all, I was happy that I booked this hotel.
There was a lot of noise outside the room and there were dogs running through the common areas. I accepted this as part of the experience, since this wasn't a typical tourist hotel. So I don't consider this a negative. But if you are bothered by those things, this probably isn't a good hotel choice. It was very basic, but also very reasonable in price. Breakfast was just coffee, tea, juice, and toast, but it was adequate. The coffee was great.

The decor at the hostel was very interesting, it was filled with art, the garden was stunning and very colourful, lots of animals - dogs, cats and parrots ! The place was clean and the shower pressure and water temperature were perfect !
You have to wake up with the parrots at around 6 am so no sleeping in but it is what it is 😂Mangos keeps falling on the roof of the hostel which really sounds like gunshots at times

It’s a cute building in a good location in the Cangrejo. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic, but fully meet expectations for a hostel.
There are no quiet hours, and many of the guests appear to be long term residents who are old white American dudes. These guys sit around in the common areas — which directly adjoin the rooms and can easily be heard in the rooms — drinking, laughing, and yelling until 2 at night. Conversations they are yelling about at 1am include, eg, the price of prostitutes in Panama City. Impossible to sleep under such circumstances. They need a quiet hour policy and staff need to enforce six a policy.
