Price point did not justify the poor experience.

Staff were friendly and helpfull

No airflow. Room was baking hot with no AC or ventilation. Struggled to sleep both night we were there and my partner suffered breathing difficulties due to the excessive heat. Lights didn't work, and shower was stone cold on our second morning.

I was able to park, although limited parking space.

The staff were unfriendly, the lady at the check out was rude. I woke up in the middle of the night on day two from noise coming from another room.

Very poor

the main reception is being refurbed and it does look very nice.

Before arriving I had received messages from the hotel about arrival time and to offer various upgrades such as a change of room, afternoon tea and late check out etc. apparently these are automated by booking.com even though they are signed off by best western reception, which is why none of the messages informed us of any issues. Upon arrival to the hotel i checked in, paid for the room, had my ID taken and a £50 security deposit, it was at that point we were told that there was an electrical issue with some of the rooms so we were going to a hotel around the corner, which wasn’t even the same chain. We queried this, why we weren’t told before then and after we have paid. We were out with friends so booked the same hotel so we could head our together. We went back and forth with the receptionist and we asked if there were any other rooms in the hotel, to which she said they were booked up. The lady made a couple of calls and then 2 others turned up and all of a sudden a room was available they just needed to make sure it was ready and it would take 5 minutes. The receptionist did apologise and offered us a drink whilst we waited, then a gentleman turned up again offered a drink and said 5 minutes, it was about 20 at this point. he went and checked the room and we could go in. The room was tiny, but apparently for 3 people, we were advised it had an ironing board and hairdryer, it did not, we got one from reception, iron didn’t work and ironing board was wet, the toilet had marks in it and the shower head did not work properly it had a leak and water also went over the shower screen and all over the bathroom floor. The bed was rock hard and could feel the springs. We didn’t really see anyone other than our friends at the hotel which i think is was a bit odd and the advertised breakfast which you pay for extra for could not be accommodated, you had to go to another hotel for this.

Wouldn't recommend. Have stayed in lots of low cost accommodation, this was the worst.

Bed uncomfortable. Room too hot despite it being Ocober. Shower broken before we used it.

Good and memorable days at London

we took 3 rooms for 7 people . ie one was triple room . The check-in was smooth . The rooms are well maintained but small. the free continental breakfast provided is the same from monday to friday with some additions on saturday and sunday . The property is near to Ilford metro and bus station . There are lot of restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner . Overall nice 7 days at BW Greater London @ Ilford

Great location. Near to shops, tube station and buses. The breakfast is excellent.

The door card had to be reactivated daily evening due to room service security.

Well located hotel in the east end of London. Provided breakfast was good.

Very welcoming staff. Hotel is a few minutes walk from the Ilford tube station and close to several excellent restaurants.

Apart from a squeaky floor in front of the bathroom door, everything about the hotel was great.

Good neat accommodation. Staff especially Mani was most accommodating and helpful.

Arrived around 10pm, was greeted By staff at Reception very well. Mani was exceptional. Great customer service by Mani , even on our checkout. Showed us to our room. Assisted us with closest restaurant that was open at that time. They even stored our luggage during the day.

good value for money but don’t expect the ritz

It was nicer inside than expected. I came with friends for a music festival so it was a great location and perfect place to just rest our heads for the night. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The website states there is parking but there isn’t

Pathetic experience

The only thing good was it was close to public transport access and had lots of restraunts nearby.

I usually do not write bad reviews, but this one forced me to write one. The overall experience was horrible. We were asked to move to another of their hotel (Best Western Illford) which was pathetic. The Wifi did not work at all and kept disconnecting every 5 mins. My wife had to attend some work calls which was not posisble. The rooms were very small and very hot. Finally they gave us a fan after 2 days. There were ants in the room almost everywhere and nothing changed despite complaining. When we asked to change our cups, the cleaning person just washed them with water in the bathroom and gave it back in front of us. We had kept our lenses on top of the wash basin. The person who cleaned the room was so careless that first the cover of contact lens case went missing and then the next day, the entire lens case was dropped as a result of which, I lost my lenses. The hotel needs some serious cleaning and professional staff.
