Great location for RAK Half Marathon
Stay here often for races on Marjan island. This time it was for the RAK half marathon - hotel is directly on the start line.
All okay

Exceptional but..
Facilities, staff, service and resort cleanliness
Food was not up to expectation, it can be much better. Also I raised a complaint cuz one of my family rooms had no AC the whole night which till now I didn't receive any justification or reply from the hotel management regarding it. This kept me a bit unsatisfied with their customer service for ignoring my complaint.

Great place
One of the most wonderful places in Ras Al Kaimah. Very clean and well maintained. Multiple options for the pools. Great beach and good service. The only thing is that the dinner buffet wasn’t up to the standard due to the high volume of guests.
I wish they had better dinner buffet quality and choices

Relax, let the kids play and not have to worry about anything.
Compared to other hotels in the area, DoubleTree offers many pools and bars and is just big enough, to offer a nice walk through the resort, so you are not stranded during your stay to just one area.
Really, cant complain too much.

Great property, but lacking in basic standards when it comes to food.
Rooms nice, pools and facilities nice. Lila the front desk supervisor was amazing and went above and beyond to help us. This Koka Dj guy is running entertainment and the property is lucky to have him, he is great.
Downstairs steam and sauna not working. I'm pretty suspicious they would be switching it off as they would work, but then at a certain time of day, it would stop. The main restaurant was terrible for a five-star resort. It's really bad. The food was the same as you would get in a street cafeteria in Dubai. Living in Dubai fifteen years, I can say this with confidence. I have been to many family resorts in the region, and the restaurant here is bad compared to them. Riu in Deira was the best food I have ever had, which surprised me. But this is a Hilton property, and even the french fries were dry, greasy, and bland. At breakfast, I saw the head chef shouting to one other chef and micro managing him on how to flip eggs.. I mean, come on! The breakfast was cheap products when it came to sausages and meats. The baked goods were dry, almost stale instead of soft and fresh. The coffee is terrible. Please bear in mind this is a five-star resort. All this would be forgivable if this was a three - to four star property. The food is priced high as it should be, but is the quality reflected in the price? No. As for the other restaurants (Thai, turkish), they were good. The Thai especially was delicious. However the main restaurant where beach and pool food is ordered from and where you get breakfast... this place needs a new chef. Lastly.. no ATM on site. You are a five-star resort, and the banks will pay you to have an ATM. Why don't you have one?
