The building is a historic structure designed in the Omani style; when it opened over a century ago, it was intended as a honeymoon destination for princes and the elite, and it houses the oldest elevator in Zanzibar.
The location is ideal; the front view overlooks the sea, the harbor is visible to the right, and the pool and Stone City are at the back.
With the sea view from the restaurant balcony, the gentle breeze, and the chirping of birds mingled with the cawing of crows, plus a quality breakfast, it was a beautiful start to a day full of activities.

The perfect beach front location! Loved how central it was - all the sights & markets were within walking distance and the beach was a couple meters across the road. Loved the traditional Zanzibar decor, from the beautiful doors to the ornate antiques in the hallways. Great breakfast selection, stunning pool and garden courtyard and very friendly staff.
The showers don’t drain quickly so you shower whilst standing in water all the time.
