Arrived late but received a lovely welcome. No problems. Management brought me to my room - despite arriving a few minutes before 8 - showed me through everything and advised about getting food locally. Very courteous. Gave advice about road closures and departure times to get through the following days.

Friendly welcoming owners who made sure the place was lovely and warm when we arrived on a cold, rainy evening.

Had an air-conditioner. Breakfast was available next door, 20yd walk away. There is a food store on site.
We checked at local visitor's centre, which was very helpful, to find out local attractions. At Ship's Creek we saw Hectors dolphins, and at Jackson Bay we enjoyed fabulous fish 'n chips at Cray Pot.
Space was very tight, and the walls are very thin, so no sound-proofing. The Wi-Fi was very slow & inconsistent
Haast is not a town, it is a very small community. Lodge is a fancy name for a very basic motel.
Beware the sandflies along that stretch of coast, definitely need anti-fly spray
