Clean modern room with plenty of supplies. Staff were excellent. Bistro food was really good. We had the daily roast

We thought we would be staying in an old style hotel but the rooms are actually in a motel block behind the historic hotel. This could have been clearer in the advertising. The rooms themselves were exactly as described and I’d a very high standard.

Did not avail myself of breakfast, left early for othervdestination.

The hotel/motel was easy to find and appeared to be a good and safe area. The staff were great, very friendly and attentive. The hotel was fantastic too. Lovely ambience and fantastic food.

Unfortunately the motel was not worth the money I paid. It was super small and uncomfortable. There was nowhere to sit comfortably apart from the very uncomfortable bed and one office chair, which became uncomfortable after sitting in it for too long. The bathroom was so, so small, you could barely turn around in it. There was no door on the shower, just a flimsy curtain, and water went everywhere. We had to put the bathmat out in the small area off the bathroom where the so-called kitchen was so it wouldn't get soaked. The door into the bathroom was so narrow, my broad shouldered husband had to go in sideways. After a long day of travelling, we were hoping to relax and wind down in the room, which was impossible. Thankfully the amazing hotel gave us that ability, which we appreciated. Appreciated having somewhere to sleep, but I didn't sleep well which made the next day of travel difficult.
