Sherwood Cottage feels more like home than a place to stay. I’ve been coming here regularly whenever I visit Nuwara Eliya, and every visit feels special. The owner is no longer just a host to me—she feels like a mom, with the same warmth, care and kindness. A truly precious little home away from home. ❤️

Can not recommend this place enough, for the price I don't think you could get any better. The view is absolutely incredible, you can spend ages just watching the clouds roll over. The room is clean, bed is very comfy and the shower is lovely and warm. It's a really great location too, slightly out of town so it's very peaceful but is only 10 minutes walk to get into town using shortcut. The walk back up from town really isn't so bad either! It's also easy to get a tuk tuk if preferred and you can get food delivered there too. The staff were really friendly and often brought me tea / coffee and snacks! I ended up extending my stay as I loved it so much and i will definitely stay here again in the future.
Only thing I can think of is it would be nice to have a kettle in the room

As per my clients, they like the overall style and look of the hotel, the rooms were really nice and comfortable but were also met with some inconveniences (please read 'what didn't you like?)
As per my clients who stayed at the hotel, there was no one at the reception to greet them, no hot water in the room, their breakfast the next day was poor and delayed, they had to wait 30min to receive their bill. Overall experience wasn't pleasant.
