This hotel had a surprisingly well-equipped room in a beautiful town 20 minutes from Tromso

I chose this as an alternative to staying in a standard hotel in Tromso. It was nice to take a 20-minute drive through amazing mountain scenery within an hour of my flight landing. Erfjordsbotn is a small town nestled at the end of a big, beautiful fjord. There’s a hike that begins within a 10-minute walk from the hotel and there’s a coffee shop/ bakery across the street from the trailhead. The room was surprisingly well-equipped. And I have to add that I’ve never had an owner of any place I’ve stayed stop by my room much less sincerely ask me to let him know if I need anything at all.

I couldn’t get the TV to work but I didn’t try very hard

Ersfjordbotn Brygge is worth the stay and looks like an ideal location during the summer, too!

The location was beautiful and off the beaten path. We were able to view the northern lights from outside the building. Also, just a few minutes drive down the road was another perfect location to view the northern lights. Since there weren't restaurants close by, we cooked at the apartment each evening and enjoyed watching TV as a family. Additionally, the staff was very accommodating of our late arrival time (ca 22:00) and made contact with us about how to check-in on the day of our arrival.

While this is likely the location rather than the complex itself, there seemed to be a slight beach smell within the apartment, which was slightly odd to experience in the winter. However, I am quite sensitive to smell and thus was the only one in my family to notice this scent.

Exceptional view, well equipped kitchen and great location

The view from the balcony was simply great, the mountains and fjord were really impressive. We have been able to see some shy northern lights from the balcony while allowed to easily get warm. The kitchen was very well equipped. The appartement is large and has a very good quality for the price, especially when compared to hotels in Tromso city. If you can rent a car, don't hesitate to do so: Tromso city is nice but the surroundings are way better ! Ersfjordbotn is close to the city but also to great places such as Grotfjord, Tromvik or Hakoya, and in the direction of Sommaroy

The only negative point was the sleeping room: the beds are for one person (even if we can make them close) and not that comfortable, which is surprising compared to the rest of the appartment. There was also no decoration in the rooms

Standard apartment in great location

The apartment is spacious and the location was great to explore the outskirts of Tromsø and chase northern lights.

The main picture is not accurate. Another building with a bar has been built on the corner and breaks the view of the fjord if you stay at the apartments on the ground floor. We did not have any toiletries for the shower, only hand wash and there was no corkscrew either.

Originally, the accommodation was to serve as a starting point for our journeys beyond the aurora borealis. In the end, we saw a lot of beautiful aurora borealis right next to the accommodation, sometimes even from the balcony of our accommodation. Beautifully equipped, spacious and clean accommodation.

Best place to see the Northern Lights!!

Stunning views! This is an amazing place. We took several cruises in search of the Northern Lights, but the best view by far was the view from this apartment. What a lovely Christmas memory for our family of four. Although we stayed 7 nights, I wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend.

Peaceful

Very scenic, quiet and peaceful location with a lovely nearby cafe and waterfall to view.

Public transport is very infrequent so taxis are between €60-€80 each way to Tromso town but we were aware of this before arriving.

lovely place for an excellent price in a beautiful spot, would return!!!

beautiful spot, plenty of space in the apartments, sufficient parking, comfy beds. excellent climate control, and the heated floors wow!

our back door lock didn’t work, which is not much of a concern in Norway the shower doors & flooring did not well contain the water, requiring squeegee effort after each shower or getting a towel wet.

The apartment faces the fjord and offers a fantastic view. The rooms are clean with modern furnishings.

There was a boat anchored right in front of our apartment for 2 days, blocking our view. Location wise, the apartment is about 30 mins drive to Tromso city centre.

We really loved our stay here!

We loved pretty much everything and the location was amazing

A couple small improvements, we could have used a few more pillows and another mirror somewhere outside the bathroom, as we were a group with 3 women. Also trash can for the kitchen. The only trash can was in the bathroom. These are minor, and the place was otherwise perfect.

Outstanding views!

Exceptional location on the fjord with beautiful views. Easy 30 min drive from Tromso, we had no trouble finding the property. There is a lovely waterfront cafe ~3 min drive away, open for breakfast and lunch. The owner of the apartments was kind enough to call one night to let us know there would be a chance of seeing the northern lights… and we did! (this was the very end of September, for reference). I would love to come back here!

The scenery on the balcony is fabulous with aurora over the head facing the snow mountains!!! Great place to stay for northern lights. But you have to rent a car.

Fantastic stay and great place to view the northern lights from. it is around a 20 minute drive to Tromso, so very conveniently located. Ersfjord also have some great views and there is a lovely waterfall a short stroll away.

Superb

About 25-30 mins drive from Tromsø, but more than worth the trouble for the truly idyllic location. Amazing views, no noise except seagulls and the sea, great hiking and outdoors options if you want. Close enough to Tromsø to function as a base for visiting museums etc there too. The place obviously caters more for sports fishing, but it worked great for us as a secluded place for a family to stay also. You do need a car for that though. There is also a genuinely excellent (by norwegian standards) supermarket about 10 mins drive away.

A cozy and comfortable modern apartment in a fairy-tale like location!

It is a fairy-tale like location, with the windows facing the fjord. I have never lived so close to the water. The apartment is comfortable and warm, has all the necessary facilities and is impeccably clean. The kitchen is well equipped and it is possible to cook your own meals. The host is very friendly.

The only thing I was missing was a good frying pan. :)
