Staying at Ash hill is truly a unique experience. We were very privileged to stay in such a beautiful residence with so much history.

Superb breakfast. All top quality local produce, including honey made from Ash Hill's own hives. Lots of variety, we had kedgeree one day. Wonderfully peaceful location with fine views of the Ballyhoura Mountains, and yet just a short walk from the facilities of Kilmallock town and the Local Link bus stop which connects with Kilfinane and surrounding villages. The old house itself is a gorgeous piece of living history in which Michael Collins once stayed after the Easter Rising. (At our insistence Simon gave us a fascinating tour.) We loved everything about our stay, most especially the welcome and helpfulness of our hosts.

This is a personal thing, but we are cosseted townies and not used to being in the Irish countryside where it can get cold at night, even in May. There was no heating as standard in the rooms, but as soon as we mentioned this to Simon he arranged for us to to have an electric blanket, and all was well. Everything else was grand.
