Elia Agia Marina Hotel

I had a lovely holiday with my daughter at Elia Agia Marina in September. Location of the hotel is great - on the beach, it is wonderful to see and hear the sea from the bedroom! (I recommend deluxe room with sea view). Another advantage of the location is that it makes the climate at the hotel area pleasant due to the sea breeze. Private beach with fine sand and always enough sunbeds. Water is shallow at the entrance, great and safe for kids. The hotel has anything you need, including car rental, can arrange group trips, airport transfer. Near the hotel there is a supermarket and an ATM. A special aspect I liked was the safety for the kid, I could comfortably stay in the sunbed and watch her play in the pool and at the sea entrance, no sea currents, no deep waters, there was nowhere she could get lost or any danger. Breakfast was very good and with many choices, lunch and dinner tasty and of good quality. Staff is really nice and helpful and catered to our needs with attention, a special highlight for receptionists and bartenders. Room was cleaned daily, comfortable bed and good quality sheets, the cleaning lady made towel swans, elephants and bows, which my kid really liked. We had a nice time at the outdoor facilities, two pools and jacuzzi. There are two accommodations - a hotel and a resort near each other. The resort is newer and premium-vibe (last photo), while the hotel is simple but comfortable with bigger rooms and sea view. You have access to all facilites located in both. We stayed at the hotel. I recommend this hotel for location, food, staff, accessibility and safety.

Only a minor detail - the public restroom from ground floor needs to be cleaned more often.

Comfortable bed, beautiful views, staff were friendly and informative. Great access to beach, complimentary beach towels and private beach access.

Shower kept leaking water under shower curtain on bathroom floor. Better if there was a glass shower screen instead.

Wifi was not available in our room. Going to the rooms through a door at the reception. The porches are half towards the sea half towards the parking.

The hotel’s greatest luxury is undoubtedly its location. One steps out almost directly onto the beach, with the sea so close that it occasionally seems to participate in the conversation. Our room, with its small balcony overlooking the water, offered precisely the sort of view that persuades one to forgive many lesser imperfections before breakfast. The room itself was spacious, practical, and thoughtfully adapted for guests with reduced mobility, while technically everything functioned perfectly well. Breakfast was agreeable rather than memorable, though there were a few authentic Greek touches among the more conventional offerings. The true revelation, however, came from the Italian coffee machines, which ground fresh beans with admirable seriousness and produced coffee far superior to what one usually encounters in large seaside hotels. We also greatly appreciated the professionalism of the manager, who handled delays with housekeeping gracefully, apologised sincerely, and restored harmony with a thoughtful gesture to our room — proof that competence remains one of the most underrated forms of charm.

The hotel suffers from a serious lack of sound insulation. Because of the marble floors and the constant scraping of furniture from the rooms above, even ordinary movements became surprisingly theatrical in volume. Unfortunately, our upstairs neighbour seemed particularly attached to rearranging furniture well after midnight, which made restful sleep rather difficult. The mattresses and pillows were also not ideally suited to us, and we woke with neck and back pain on several mornings. Housekeeping was noticeably delayed during the first days, apparently because a new cleaning team had just arrived. Finally, while the staff was generally polite, the atmosphere often felt curiously distant. One somehow expected a little more warmth, spontaneity, and attentiveness from Greek hospitality; instead, many employees carried themselves with the solemn expression of characters quietly negotiating with the gods of ancient tragedy.
