Iolida Beach by Smile Hotels

The location was great. The room had a couch and a rollaway for the kids and a seperate room with a queen bed for us. Bathroom had a walk in shower. I had to ask reception for the safe key. All inclusive package food and alcohol. Pools were great. The one on the beach side always windy. It was on the main street so you could walk to the local shops and restaurants. Easy to get around.

Overall, the hotel is good: the food, location, and cleanliness were all very satisfactory. They allowed us to stay on the last day after check-out without removing our wristbands. I was able to have lunch and dinner and enjoy the hotel until late in the evening, which made a big difference. I thought this was a very strong positive point. However, there are some points that could be improved: 1. The all-inclusive snacks are served in only one location. Considering how large the hotel is, I found it a bit ridiculous that I literally had to cross the bridge just to get some food. 2. The ice cream included in the all-inclusive package is terrible. I honestly found it almost disrespectful to guests. 3. The soft drinks come from a machine. For a 4-star hotel, I expected something better.

Iolida Beach Hotel was a wonderful surprise and one of the highlights of our vacation. A hotel like this can make the difference between an ordinary holiday and a truly memorable one. The location is perfect, right on the beautiful Agia Marina beach, with crystal-clear water and fine sand. The two hotel buildings are connected by a bridge over the road, which makes it very safe for children to move between the pools or go to the beach without having to cross traffic. The swimming pools are excellent – large, spotless, and with pleasantly warm water. Our room was exceptionally clean. Housekeeping was done every day, and both the towels and bed linen were changed regularly. The building where we stayed was also very well ventilated, so despite the warm summer weather, we hardly needed to use the air conditioning. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. There was a wide variety of fresh and tasty food, and even during busy hours, the dining area never felt crowded. The staff also surprised us with thoughtful little gestures that made our stay even more special. One day we returned to our room and found a penguin made from towels, which our children absolutely loved. On another day, we received complimentary fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. These are small details, but they show genuine hospitality and leave a lasting impression. Overall, Iolida Beach Hotel was an excellent choice and played a big part in making our family vacation truly memorable. We would be very happy to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete.

Location

Been comimg for years and it's gone down hill bad. Annual tourist are not taken care of any longer and it's only about the Scandinavian people. Closing a pool at 6pm is unbelievable. Food is downgraded. They cut thier veg like 2 days before serving and they are dry. They shut cafe machine off after breakfast which is horrible service. There are many reasons why I won't come back .
