The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and furnished appropriately to the age and style of the inn.
First impressions upon arrival were not favourable! The front of the property was untidy with some litter and the pub sign needs replacing as it is broken. As you enter, the pub area has the filthiest carpet I've seen. It smells of dirt, dust and l got a wiff of wee. I was ready to leave. Thank goodness the room suite was a welcome surprise. That said , even the accommodation would benefit from a fresh lick of paint and the communal stairway needs a good hoover. In essence what I'm trying to say is that this business has "good bones" but is let down by the housekeeping and general maintenance, that's not upto standard. My husband was also disappointed by his full English breakfast which he felt was let down by the cheap sausages. I was perfectly content with my selection of scrambled eggs.
