Phenomenal stay! Beautiful setting, amazing staff and fantastic game drives - we see all of the big five, in a safe and respectful manner, as well as wild dogs, cheetah, giraffes, zebras etc. Food was great and we slept very comfortably every night. Would highly recommend!!!
Not many open areas to relax outside (e.g. near the pool) and didn’t get a chance to eat on the main lower terrace which is shown on the photos.

This was our first trip to SA ( won't be our last ) and we stayed at 3 different lodges. Kuname came out on top for it's exceptional hospitality especially from the managers Harry & Glenn. Nothing was too much trouble, always checked in and helped us to make arrangements during our stay for any excursions. Always around ready to help or have a chat. They went above and beyond and truly stood out to us.
The food was exceptional too, it honestly felt like eating Michelin star meals every day, the taste, care and the presentation was truly amazing, absolute master chef at this lodge, a big thank you for making a gf cake for my birthday which my husband organised and surprised me with on the day. They catered so incredible for my GF dietary requirements to the point where I didn't have to ask I would be given food at the table that was a gf alternative for breakfast pastries pancakes etc, had gf muffins on the drive and they even made a separate gluten free cake dessert during the Boma. You will be so well looked after here.
The game drives and our tracker and guide Eddie & Lucky and indeed we were very lucky to have these two for our safari experience, so knowledgeable, easy to talk to fun and great to see how their passion for the animals and drives still show the fascination they have even doing this everyday. We saw the big five on one day alone, there is so much to see on this beautiful reserve from wild animals, trees, plants, birds and the sunsets are unreal.
Our room was so lovely, clean and well facilitated, loved the outdoor bath and having a view of the river bed from the terrace of our room which my husband was very surprised to see 2 lions walking across one day.
The Boma was an amazing experience and was so happy we would have the chance to experience this and dine with others and the safari team. Everything about this trip and this lodge was so special, we hope to return in the future and would definitely recommend to others.

We had the most exquisite stay at Karongwe. The staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough. Our guide Mandla & tracker Colin really were two of the nicest people we have ever met. The food was 5 star, and the portions were big. They also catered for my wife who is vegetarian. This was a trip of a lifetime, seeing 4 of the big 5. We would love to come back!
