The room and shared bathroom were very clean, the room looked cozy and cute and actually much better than in the pictures. It is a 'sister hostel' of a nearby larger hotel which provided breakfast in the morning and there is a receptionist there. The location was good, close to Interlaken and about 10 mins walk from the Wilderswil train station. The staff were friendly and there was always something at reception during the day if you need something.
Minor points: You cannot use a kettle in the room (in fact kettle was not provided) due to the wood used to construct the building. The breakfast was good but mostly cold food and not a good selection of vegetarian options. And cash only for the tourist tax (but you can go to the ATM at the station and the staff were understanding and allowed us to pay it the next day). The thing that bothered us more was that the soundproofing in the rooms is poor, you can hear every time neighbours go in/out of their rooms/bathroom and you can hear people talking quite clearly.

The location is nice. We came by car and could park at the hotel parking lot for free. All the nearby landmarks were easily accessible. The hotel is clean and the lady at the reception is friendly. The interior of the room is modern and nice.
Unfortunately, despite the recent renovation, the rooms are not soundproof. If you have any neighbours with children, believe me, you'll hear every cry. Squeaky wooden floor boards and stairs make the most annoying sounds when people walk on them, which they do quite often, because there's only one bathroom on each floor for 3 rooms. That was also a bad surprise, because it's easy to overlook that the bathroom is shared in the room's description. The hotel is definitely overpriced considering the lack of soundproofing and a shared bathroom. There's no balcony, no nice view and it was hot in the room though it was in April. The room itself is tiny. If you need a good night sleep and comfort, book something else.
