Beautiful hostel, nice location and kind staff

I liked the building and its style, the garden was lovely and Peggy the receptionist was always very helpful and kind with us!

The breakfast could have been better. No fruits, no real coffee (just instant) and no variety of cookies/bread

A comfortable and clean place to stay. Lovely historic home. A chance to meet interesting people. Great location to visit Sydney CBD or northern suburbs. A chance for our kids to experience communal/lodge living in a safe and inviting atmosphere.

A little shelf and door hook in each toilet would be helpful. There were times when the main bathroom was occupied, and I needed to use the sink in the toilets for makeup etc. Just a little tip- otherwise, all great!

Great accommodation in an old historic house

Very nice accommodation, in a big old house with a lot of history. Its located in a very quiet area but close to the center of Sydney nonetheless (about 50min walking). I really liked the facilities and the whole house was taken care of and well renovated. The private room (15) was great with air condition, tv, towels, etc. free self serve stuff for breakfast in yhe refrigerator and kitchen area downstairs. The place is like a hostel, but much better quality and a bit fancier.

Only counterpart is there does not seem to be anyone present at reception at any time… in case you have any doubts or questions there won’t be any help available on site.

It was good for affordable accommodation.

Its shared accommodation, as in shared bathroom and kitchen. But it was modern, clean and well maintained. The rooms are very small. But they had a bar fridge and place to hang clothes.

Having only one room key was a bit tricky, given that my husband and I were going separate ways for the day on some occasions. There is no concierge and at times hard to get hold of the reception manager by phone. Not much room for luggage, a bit cramped.

Cheap accommodation but very clean and serves it purpose

This is a cheap but cheerful accommodation. It is cheap because it is no-frills but you know what you are getting so don't book here if you want a major hotel style setup. My room and the shared bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen is extensive and you can cook whatever you like - again it was also very clean. The complex is reasonably quiet within and there was little traffic noise on the night. I knew what I was booking and why it was cheap and I would happily stay again.

The complex is located in a residential area so you will need to walk 10mins to get to the main roads where there are pubs, restaurants, takeaways - again, I didn't find this a problem but be aware if you book.

A good option for budget travelers.

clean and well equipped kitchen. The room was small but comfortable and the property has a good shared living and dining room.

The bathrooms were very clean but the disinfectant used smelt truly awful. As a result despite the cleanliness you felt like you were in a men’s public urinal.

it served its purpose and except for the host being less than accommodating was fine

it’s distance from the hospital the friendliness of the other guests

we paid for parking for two nights but needed to park for a couple of hours past checkout . ( I was to stay in hospital and my husband wanted to stay with me as long as he could before returning to regional NSW . we were told we couldn’t , even though he would have been gone before anyone had checked . he asked if anyone was checking in early and was told no…. but they might ! Apparently any new checkin was a more valued customer than us! eventually there was a compromise but it all seemed petty and unnecessary The parking as also awkward and blocks everyone’s entrance to the front door , but it was worth paying for for us .

good accommodation with just some cleanliness issues

good value for money, great location, good facilities

Men's bathroom on upper floor was cramped and not really suitable for more than 1 person, despite being set up that way. Urinal next to sink with only a small separator didn't exactly give off good hygiene vibes. Black mould in shower also wasn't good. Carpet is probably as old as the building itself and in need of some TLC

Location was fantastic and the staff were great

The room was MUCH smaller than I expected and I thought the bathrooms could have been a lot cleaner. The showers and basins were clean but the floors were pretty awful and the toilet seats also needed better cleaning

Noisey, disappointing, impersonal, overpriced

Sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable

Being an older property there was no sound insulation so I could hear other guests talking, walking down the corridors, doors shutting, cooking smells from the kitchen. The road was quite noisy in the mornings from traffic. Neighbours noise in particular one day jet washing and leaf blowing for 2.5 hours from 7.30 am on a Saturday morning impossible to hear the TV! Having a shower whilst another guest is using the toilet. Dirty floors in the showers, a broken shower hose, clogged extractor fan covers in the shower rooms and kitchen, flies in the shower. The garden was untidy, one side fence was falling down, there was limited seating in the garden - all very basic and impersonal with no attention to detail and comfort.

Chilled house

In general the accomodation was clean, quite and relaxed Was easy to get the key. No one disturbed me. Got a good nights sleep. Area felt safe and wasn't worried about safety

The only thing I wish I could change is the location. This was rather long walk after a long day of exploring the city.

Excellent thank you

We had a lovely stay at the lodge. Such a nice location. Breakfast at Cafe nearby sensational. Easy to get everywhere plenty of food options 5 mins away in Crows Nest. Train station. Nearby 10 minute walk. Easy parking. Very clean and tidy. We really enjoyed our stay.

Did have issue with noise. I notified the property they took action and told others on my floor quietened down after 10pm. Have been staying there for months when in sydney first time a problem .

Great location and awesome price for a 3 star property.

Great location in quiet, leafy street. Handy kitchen to prepare meals and a dining area to eat with provided crockery and cutlery.

Cleanliness of upstairs male bathroom. Whilst not busy while stayed there, if the occupancy was high, there may be a wait for toilets and showers.

Kitchen area and lounge were well appointed. Location was great for my meetings in North Sydney and close walking distance to shops and restaurants.

The room was a bit dirty and the light bulb wasn't working. Shared bathroom not particularly clean but I understand this is sometimes difficult to maintain with multiple users.

I liked that it was close to the bus station, quiet and the staff were very friendly and accommodated my early arrival

good location, parking no problem very clean and big television, dining area with noone there very good value for money for a few nights, if you only need a bed

no staff on site, sometimes you see a cleaner A little bit noisy, with the folks staying in the connecting room. we stayed on the ground floor.
