The host cooked Korean food every morning and sometimes dinner, and all of them were so delicious. We also made Kimbap with the host. We felt like we got to experience Korean life.

I arrived at the guesthouse after a long and tiring day... and was immediately greeted with INCREDIBLE hospitality by the hosts, Young-in and Sam. They invited me to join dinner, where we ate and calmly chatted. It was the perfect start to my stay, and the kindness continued throughout - wonderful, varied Korean breakfasts each morning, recommendations for local sights, help with laundry and booking a taxi. I stayed in the single room, which is small but true to the photos in the listing - it never felt cramped. Its bathroom/toilet is opposite the room, but I always felt I had enough privacy. The location is glorious - right next to Bukhansan mountain and in the hip Buam-dong neighbourhood, with many independent galleries, cafes, restaurants. It's a 10-minute walk from the guesthouse to the bus stop / main street, but it's hilly (so if you have mobility issues, consider taking a taxi). Buses to Seoul run regularly and take around 15 minutes. I will long cherish the memory of discussing Korean cinema with Young-in and hearing about one of Sam's schoolmates who later became a famous actor... The guesthouse exceeded all expectations, it's like staying on holiday with your relaxed aunt and uncle. Highly recommended - book it now!

ホストがフレンドリーでとても親切でした。他の宿泊者と一緒に朝食（ホストが作るおいしい韓国家庭料理）を食べたり近くを散策したりと、交流もできて楽しかったです。部屋や施設内のインテリアも素敵で、とても清潔でした。急激に寒くなった時期に訪問しましたが、施設内は暖房がよく効いていて快適でした。ソウルの中心地（繁華街）ではないですが、バスで簡単に町に出られます。また行きたいですし、他の人にもお勧めしたい宿です。

Mr and Mrs Kim are amazing hosts, warm and welcoming, Mrs Kim is a great cook and everything was perfect. The house is at the end of a road up in mountains in a nice leafy neighborhood of Seoul. Highly recommended.

Amazing Family. So kind and hospitable. Jung cooks the most delicious breakfasts and it is really pleasant to sit and chat with the other guests during this time.
Bed was comfortable and shower hot. Everything was clean.

Das Zimmer mit einem schönen, großen Balkon war mit zwei großen und zwei kleinen Reisekoffern etwas klein. In Großstädten wie Seoul aber durchaus üblich.

What a perfect place to stay for the beginning of our South Korea adventure. Our hosts (Young & Sam) were incredible and prepared such beautiful breakfasts catering for multiple different dietary requirements (Vegan, Halal etc). The hosts also showed us their area by taking us out for very nice walks.
They also helped us with our laundry, restaurant + food recommendations, transport and alot of those little things that make travel much easier. Thank you Young, Sam and KimGang!

The hosts were really hospitable, they even went out with me for dinner and drove me to the bus station. It's also in a very peaceful and tree-lined area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still easily accessible by public transport. If I could rate this place 11/10, I would.

Second review...I returned for another two nights. That should say something about how much I enjoyed the first visit. This time I met Mr Kim, by his own admission a young man at heart. Together he and Mrs Kim prepared a family (and friends) barbecue, a special evening. They looked after my every need, even helping me connect with the express bus to Incheon Airport, like my Korean parents. Don't miss a chance to meet Mr and Mrs Kim and to stay at their home!

Mrs Kim is an exceptional host. You'll feel relaxed and at home right away. I've traveled to many places and stayed in all sorts of accommodation. This will be remembered as one of the most treasured. Of course I will return. Don't miss the breakfasts. The neighborhood offers many excellent spots to eat and drink coffee. It's a bit outside from the center of Seoul--but so beautiful and peaceful that you'll be happy for that privilege.

Jung the host is very kind and helpful. She picked me up from the bus stop and gave me lunch on arrival. Big Korean brekky every morning. The house stretches up the hillside on three levels making maximum use of an odd shaped block.
Wonderful windows with mountain views, high ceilings, contemporary floors. Property is serviced by 3 or 4 buses, 12 minutes to Gwanghwamun station [direct line to Gimpo Airport] / US Embassy / Gyeongbokgung Palace. 6 or 7 expensive restaurants and 2 convenience stores nearby. No street food. Area is very quiet and middle class. Not much to do except climb two small nearby mountains or descend to the urban sprawl below where the air is not so fresh.
I had the upper floor bedroom with two single beds pushed together and sharing a bathroom with a semi permanent resident whose queen bed was screened off rather than walled off so only short passage and my door separating him from me. No microwave available. Use of communal fridge.
Location will not suit the needs of everyone but I found it relaxing. Very clean.

I like the breakfast time. There will be small talks between the guests. The owner is amiable and provides an exceptional breakfast. You will not find home-cooked breakfast in other places in Korea. I really recommend staying at this place for a long time. It is very suitable for travellers that don't really like the crowd at night in Seoul. Buam-dong is famous as a place for artists. Sometimes, the owner will invite you to do some activities. You can think it as a home-stay experience in Seoul.
The location is on the mountain, so there will be an uphill to go to the place. You need to go to the place by foot from the bus station.

Ms Kim was super friendly and welcoming when I first arrived. It felt like I was temporarily adopted while I stayed at her guesthouse. Her traditional korean breakfast is something you can't get at any hotel. I liked having breakfast with her and other guests as we discussed our plans. I even got back one evening and just sat at the dining table to decompress the day. As a solo traveller, it helped me slowly settle into Korea and has left a great impression of North Seoul. It is a hidden gem that is only 20 minutes away from central Seoul.

Mrs Kim is very friendly and prepares really nice homecooked dishes for us (she even taught us how to make kimbap) to enjoy while chatting with her and the other travellers. She also has good recommendations for restaurants, jjimjibang, etc. Love the location too because it's at a quieter area of Seoul (great to chill and take a break) but still has quite a number of good restaurants, hiking trails within walking distance and there were buses to many tourist attractions too. I didn't have any issue with the walk from the bus stops as it didn't felt long and was rather enjoyable to just look at the scenery and buildings along the way.
I love this place so much that I'm sad to go back home. :)

lovely family, it’s more than a hotel, it’s a place where you can feel home and be part of it.
Location is very nice for exploring mountains and trails nearby. Some start just next to the house, but if you want to explore National Park just take a short bus ride (eg. 1022).

This guesthouse is absolutely amazing. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Not only did our host serve us delicious food, she also took us to nearby locations and recommended spots.

The guesthouse owners were so friendly and made it a point to interact with all their guests! On one of the breakfast, Mrs Kim even made Soondubu Jjigae for me, and it was one of the best that I have tried.

This place has a different place in my heart. Just another home in a different country. The hosts were really nice and warm. We had such a good time bonding with the hosts and the other guests. They even took us for lunch and dud everything to make us feel comfortable. Highly recommended. We will be back again.

Everything was great. Probably it was the best stay among all my travels. The family makes you feel welcome and really care about you. I got good travel advice, got the opportunity to help making the breakfast (and leaning a bit Korean cooking) and to do several activities outdoor with them.
When I came back to Seoul later in my trip, I didn't hesitate and stayed at their guesthouse again.
Some people point out the location (less close to the center), but it is really not a problem, because you are in a very quiet place (while Seoul is huge and very populated), with hiking possibilities and there are lots of buses going to the center. I barely used them and went by foot everyday between the center and the guesthouse.

The host and her son were amazing people! I'm really touched by their hospitality and kindness. Mrs. Kim wakes up early in the mornings and cooks breakfast for her guests. It was far more than I expected or could have asked for. During my stay, I met other guests and had great conversations with them over snacks and tea/drinks. My room was very comfortable and clean. I had everything I needed. My only regret was not being able to stay longer!

My stay at The Kims was absolutely wonderful. The hosts are extremely kind and generous. In particular, the breakfasts made by Mrs Kim were delicious, varied and plentiful. The house is in a very quiet area within easy reach of the centre of town by bus or taxi. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend!!!

We had an amazing time staying with them, Mrs Kim made really delicious food and we really appreciate the daily breakfast!
On our first day, we arrived on their property quite late at night and wanted to order food delivery but restaurants were closed. Mrs Kim whipped up delicious kimchi soup for us, and we are really thankful for this.
Great location for the property, surrounded with cafes and restaurants and is walking distance from the nearest bus stop. Nice to stay slightly away from the city with fresh mountain air, but yet accessible to the main touristy areas as well.

I stayed here for my first night in Seoul, and was super tired from the long flight and commuting during rush hour. Mrs. Kim welcomed me with tea and introduced me to other solo guests that were at home. After learning I hadn't eaten dinner yet and wasn't planning to due to fatigue, she was very generous to make kimchi and seafood pancakes to share over drinks. Thank you Mrs. Kim for your warm welcome and fun conversations! I had a great night's sleep and also enjoyed breakfast.
I only had a carry-on so the bus ride + walk to the accommodation up the hill wasn't bad; however, would recommend a taxi if you have a suitcase or heavy baggage.

Mrs Kim provided home cooked breakfast - some korean, some European. Her French toast was excellent.
The main “drawback” was getting to the guesthouse. It’s up a narrow street, difficult for taxis to access, and may require rolling your luggage up a slope. It’s a 10 to 15 minute walk to the bus stop, part of which is uphill and downhill. Location is in a residential area in the hills, and the buses are good. No nearby subway. But the comfortable apartment and host’s warm hospitality more than made up for the inconvenience. She also took us on a trail near her guesthouse, and the cafe for which the Kdrama Coffee Prince was filmed. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, just be mindful that luggage needs to be wheeled up and down the slope to the taxi. If you are young and healthy, no problem.
