Good again!

Very nice and well equipped bungalow with balcony. Safe parking. Laundry possibility. The beach and a good restaurant plus a reggae bar are very near. The Cahuita National Park is only 5 minutes driving... We enjoyed the small swimming pool in the beautiful garden.

I was here 2 years ago also and now I got the same bungalow. 2 years ago I traveled with my wife and daughter, so the double bed and bunk bed were ok for us at that time. But now I came with 2 of my friends and men over 55 don't like to sleep in the same bed or climb into bunk beds. My reservation was for 3 single beds, so this was a big disappointment. The pictures also showed such a room, but when I asked the owner, he said that they don't have such accommodation. Then the pictures and the description should be changed! Too bad about this incident because everything else was perfect...

Peaceful surroundings and lovely gardens, close to everything

Great times at the beach and the pool and in the hammock.

Miss Rebecca was very nice and helpful. The cabin was cute and clean and the whole place was a nice little slice of heaven.

Exceptional

How clean it was!!!! How amazing the management was!!!!! I enjoyed our 2 night 3 day visit. The convenient walk to the beach with two restaurants just down the way. It was nestled just enough away from the beach and the other lodges to be private. When i say nestled i mean like a 2 minute walk. Met all our needs. Thanks Rebecca you and the staff were awesome. We will be back.

Great place to stay

The place is great!! It has some special vibe, you can hear birds, it has pool, beach is like 200m from the place, itnis not just the room, it is small cottage with porch and hammock, breakfast was good

There is no air conditioning but there is a fan so it was okej

Comfortable stay next to the beach

Cabinas Nirvana Ecolodge is just at a few minutes walking distance from Playa Negra, a perfect surf place, and in 15 minutes walk you can easily reach the National park of Cahuita. The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and came with a fully equipped kitchen. Margoth is super friendly, she gave tips for my stay and she even helped to organise my transfer to the airport. I fully recommend it.

Comfortable, clean and quiet location near Cahuitas

We liked that the garden was well kept and the location was quiet and good for the beach and OK for the town of Cahuitas.

The welcome by the owner manageress was unpolite. She could have at least said "hello" and was visibly unhappy when we dared reserve breakfast for the following day. We ate breakfast elsewhere. The semi-detached bungalows were far from soundproof and we could hear our neighbors' every move and conversation. There was no hot water in the shower or sink but fortunately the water was sufficiently tepid.

Love Cahuita

What a beautiful area! Our favorite part of our vacation. The kids loved the beach for the waves. The wildlife was amazing. It is not everywhere in Costa Rica that you have howler monkeys and agoutis and so much wildlife so close. Look high in the trees for iguanas. The breakfast was awesome. We had a huge porch that was perfect for outdoor living. Love love love.

Good location, friendly service

Staff and location are great. Breakfast - which you have to order a night before, but is therefore freshly made just for you - was delicious and big. Gardens are lovely too, you can see some birds and animals roaming around. Beach is just a stone’s throw away, a few bars as well. Cahuita centre is about 15 minute walk.

The cabins are a little tired looking, dark and humid.

Lovely place for your stay in Cahuita

Excellent position, very close to the beach and to the “main riad” if Playa Negra but super quiet. we had one of the small cabinas but we felt very comfortable. The garden is amazing, breakfast is excellent and the owners extremely nice. I can highly recommend the place.

Very good

Great location, close to restaurants and a short walk to town. The grounds are nicely kept. The rooms are spacious and clean. Overall a good experience.

Our room was poorly lit and had some termite damage. But these are very minor issues.

A relaxing and quiet stay. The hotel was almost empty when we were there.

A beautiful garden with interesting wildlife. I enjoyed swinging in the hammock. The pool was refreshing. Good location a short walk from the black sand beach.

No English was spoken. The room was quite basic for the price but comfortable enough.

Superb

A nice, big lodge with a lovely swimming pool. Our cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable.

The room light could be brighter, but maybe that's part of the eco program?

Dangerous shower

It was clean, breakfast was nice at extra cost., fridge good to keep water cool.

I booked because the advert said they spoke English, they didn't at all so we couldn't be helped with any transport, trips or other enquiries. The shower floor has wall tiles very dangerous, be warned! I slipped and injured my wrist, waiting until I get back to get xray to see if it is broken. Tried to tell owner how dangerous it is without a non slip mat and she was completely disinterested., she just shrugged. We felt like just an income to them, no care or going above and beyond like some other places we stayed at. Pool was OK but no shallow end so unsuitable for children. No mosquito nets as shown in photos, got bitten loads! We had prebooked for 4 nights and wished we hadn't.

One of the best where we were in CR! Value for money

Very nice and well equipped bungalow with balcony. Safe parking. Laundry possibility. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. The beach and a good restaurant is very near. The Cahuita National Park is only 5 minutes driving... My daughter enjoyed the small swimming pool in the beautiful garden.

It's hard to close the door of the bungalow But it's just a small thing...

Superb

Friendly owners, nice pool area, two hammocks at our private terrace, close to the beach, bar and restaurants, also walking distance to Cahuita and the NP, private parking. Great price value.

Creaking wood at the floor, door, etc. and no good noise insulation means you hear a lot when your neighbors are walking etc. Light in the room was pretty weak.

Exceptional

I liked that it was in a great location just by the beach. Great place to take a break and rest further away from the town (but it was still close enough to go for a walk there or to the park). The sheets were changed daily, so everyday I had everything clean and nice. The pool was clean and pleasant to swim in. The reception desk was helpful and friendly.

The owner was a bit strange when I asked for a breakfast in the morning.

Pleasant stay at the Caribbean coast

Wildlife (birds, frogs, could hear howler monkeys,...). Porches, hammocks, pool, well groomed premises, family room has kitchen, close to beach and restaurants.

Access road was a bit bumpy.

Exceptional

The location and setting were excellent. Short walk to the beach. 10min walk into town but I liked that aspect. If you stayed in town you would more likely walk to this beach anyway. The setting was about 150m back from the beach with trees surrounding the property and the cabin set in a well kept garden. The family that ran/own the property were lovely, kind and welcoming. The beakfasts were extra but boy they were filling and perfect start to the day and good value. Above our cabin were two 3 Toed Sloths asleep in the Sea Almond tree. Agouti ran around the grounds. Howler monkeys close by in the larger trees. Lots of birds and iguanas too. The swimming pool was perfect for cooling off in. The cabins were cosy and very comfortable with aircon. Hammocks on the decking to relax on. We liked it so much we decided to extend our break. I highly recommend this place.

unprofessional staff and dirty hotel

the room has thin walls you can hear everything from the cabana beside you. there is only one remote for aircon that you need to share with another room- literally you need to ask the remote from another guest. bed was so uncomfortable we barely slept… toilet was musty and dirty with low water pressure and low heating. the location is also not good- its at the far end of a small dirt road. if you don’t have a car it’s not ideal. staff doesn’t speak any English

We spent 4 nights and were very comfortable. Enjoyed the birds, frogs, monkeys and the family dogs!

The hosts were friendly and accommodating in every way. The location is very close to the beach yet tucked away and private. It was very quiet, peaceful and comforting.

Great place!

Beautiful garden surrounding the cabins. The room was nice, good bed, two pillows each, airco, super clean. Perfect to hang out on your own veranda I love it, with two hammocks in these nice surroundings. Dip in the nice clean and cool pool, beds for sunbathing. Beach is also super close and if you want a drink or some food there are some cute restaurants around the corner or even more in a 15 min walk to Cahuita.

Nothing, just ask for a mosquito net if you want it. There are not too many mosquito’s but if your more comfortable you can ask one.
