The location was not far from a very busy road but it suited me because it was around the corner from my sister. It was very close to a small set of shops where you can access a doctor, pharmacy, bottle shop, nice cafe and an old character pub, church, barbers, a basic turkish kebab place with the best falafel kebab I've ever had. If you request room B you can sit at your little dining table for two and look out at the port hills. At the shops you could catch two buses the orbiter that does a full circle around Christchurch and another bus that takes you into the CBD in one direction or a shopping mall in the other direction, both of which are quite close by bus. Room was quite modern. There was self service laundry on site, $4 for a wash using two $2 coins and five dollars for the dryer.
The accommodation was booked in a hurry because I came over for a funeral. I like to cook my own simple food when I can, I don't like eating too much bought food, but there was only one pot. There is a two element cook top and a microwave so I could have cooked more if there was more kitchen equipment. I'm going to speak to the owners about this, usually in NZ if you can self-cater there is more equipment. I would have liked a box of tissues and a laundry powder dispensing machine. I didn't have a hire car as my brother and sister were transporting when they could. The supermarket was a short bus ride away but you are limited by how much you can carry back.

Parking was bit difficult with bigger vehicle but with a smaller vehicle be easier
