Staying at Aura Cave was a truly unique and memorable experience. The cave-style accommodation was unlike anywhere we had stayed before, with natural light entering mainly through the front entrance, adding to its distinctive charm. The private pool on top of the cave was a wonderful bonus and the perfect place to cool off while enjoying the surroundings. The location was also excellent, with the heart of Santorini just a five-minute walk away.
The only improvement we would suggest is having a washing machine available for guests, as this would make longer stays even more convenient.

The atmosphere at the campsite is peaceful and relaxing, and the hosts are very friendly. There are plenty of amenities, including a small restaurant that operates as a bakery during part of the day and serves freshly prepared food at other times. The beach is fantastic and not too popular, so it was never overcrowded. A great place for children.
There were a few small details that could be improved. Some relate to the campsite in general, while others concern the accommodation we stayed in.
The campsite has a swimming pool, although it was not in use during our stay. This was not a major issue for us, but it would have been helpful if the outdoor showers had been working, as they are very convenient for rinsing off after swimming in the sea. There is no washing machine in the accommodation itself, but one is available elsewhere at the campsite for an additional fee.
One of the mosquito screens was slightly damaged, and the selection of kitchenware was rather basic. There is also a skylight that cannot be opened, which is a shame, as it could help cool the accommodation more quickly in the evening. The main inconvenience was the Wi-Fi, which was quite weak. However, this may be related to the location, as the mobile internet signal was also limited.

The location was great. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The water pressure was great.
The host was prompt to reply.
The deck was not clean and the pool was still empty from winter. The booking site photos and 'features' showed both the deck and pool available for use, and so we were very disappointed that we were not able to use either and the host did not tell us in advance that these amenities would not be available. Many of the other hotels and guest suites had their pools open.
The tables and chairs were worn, and the shower curtains were mouldy at the bottoms (the cave aspect makes for very humid air, even with dehumidifiers running 24/7).
