Cave house was unique and really comfortable, location and the facilities were amazing. Roof top terrace and jacuzzi were out of this world

Wifi did not work for the length of our stay. The satellite tv also didn’t work. The linens were the worst I have ever had, the towels and robes felt like sandpaper.

Overall we were very happy with our stay at Olive cave house and Vera was excellent considering she had a newborn. She explained everything on a map which made it easy for us. Plus she was very quick to respond when we needed information. She was always willing to help, great customer service. Location was superb ,10-15 min walk to fira which was very convenient. From the hill you could see the sea. Good location. Will recommend stay here.
If you arrive at night , be prepared for a climb up the hill which is short ,as the Taxis dont go up all the way. Better to ask for a transfer from the airport ,as it may be hard to locate. Bathroom was small in one of the bedrooms so it got very steamy as there was no window. Otherwise the Gold Apt is very spacious and clean . Kitchen utensils could have been better and smaller, especially if you want to rustle up a quick meal.

property was closed to the center of Fira so it was convenient to visit different spots. all the main restaurants and bus stops were a short walk away. Bed was comfortable and cleaning lady showed up everyday to clean and give us clean towels. communication was responsive if there were questions.
the bathroom is very dated and needs quite a bit of updating. the water temperature is unstable and we had to shower in cold water 3 out of the 4 days we were there. the trash can in the bathroom was broken and requires you to use to hand to lift open the lid. based on how much we were paying per night, a much better quality place was expected.

The location was ideal for the town centre; its shops and restaurants. The location also worked well for wedding events we'd travelled for.
The accommodation at Olive Caves was hugely disappointing. The house itself was dark throughout and the lighting, particularly in the rear bathroom was completely inadequate. But it was the dirt/soiling that I really struggled with. Fixed upholstery on the armchair and one of the dining chairs was heavily soiled with grease/fat marks - completely unacceptable. .Furthermore; the wardrobe in the bedroom was completely unusable. Like all of the furniture in the house, it was second hand and roughly painted a flat white matte; however, on opening the wardrobe doors the interior appeared as the original and it absolutely stank. The smell was so bad we had to hang our wedding clothes either side of the outside of the wardrobe and keep our clothing in our cases for the duration of our stay. Not what I expect from a holiday stay.
The cleaner who came in every day did a very good job in what we considered very difficult circumstances. Our overall experience was that far from the impression of 'shabby chic' as advertised in photographs it was simply sub-standard accommodation.
I delayed this review as I'd really wanted to like this place but our experience really put a damper on our holiday. To put in perspective; It was one of four different accommodations we stayed in during our time in Santorini and it was the only one that failed to meet our expectations.

No breakfast was served. Although location was acceptable.
This is the reasons why we left the following day although it was paid in full for four days and no ways to get refunded for the lack of quality: 1) there was no AC in the bedroom but only in the dinning room area and had a really bad fungus smell when turned on. 2) the lack of aeration in the room caused fungus. See pictures!! 3) this is not what we purchased and we were so disappointed once we arrived. While we were writing this message sitting outside the room we met the neighbours from suite GOLD and they had the same issues. The host received a message from them with the same issue about the AC and her answer was the same “you’re in a cave and AC is not required”!!! We booked a room with AC!!!
We asked for the host her professionalism to resolve the issue in the most respectable way and nothing was resolved. The host was arrogant and never showed up to implement a solution.

It wasnt mention anywhere but the location of property is uphill.It was hard every time to go uphill the property as I have spondylitis.Also the hot tub is situated on the terrace of the property so if u want to use it u have to climb up again.the Also there was power cut for a while and there was no water for couple of hours though the host sorted it out later.

Not recommended if you are having heavy luggage. The property is located on a high slope and you have to manage the luggage yourself.

Sofia was the sweetest host!!! She organized all our transfers and made sure we made it safely to our destinations. She provided free water, tips and maid services. The unit was equipped with coffee, a comfy bed, good natural lightening and a terrace. Location is a 12 min walk from the main bus stop which is cheap and takes you anywhere in Santorini.

a very cute small cave style apartment in fira with excellent facilities. small kitchen and hob and cooking facilities, good WiFi, access to top terrace, room cleaning service every day and provide with fresh towels and bath robes. excellent host sofi who checks in with you everyday and can help with taxis and any other queries you may have. water is provided everyday too. short walk to town.
the only minor thing I would mention is given the material of the floor it can get slippery when wet in bathroom and kitchen area. me and my friend fell once, however if your careful enough and keep floor dry it’s fine.

The property is beautiful - we had the 2 bed house and were 3 people - the house can easily sleep 6 (2 double beds and a sofa bed). At full occupancy the property is excellent value.
The house is only a few minutes walk from Fira - it is a relatively steep walk so that should be considered for older or less mobile guests. The cliff walk beside the property to Imorvegli and Fiorstwfani is really lovely and easy.
The place was spotless and Fernando was always on site to help with anything.
Amalia (the property manager) was excellent - contact prior to arrival was super easy, she arranged transfers for us, gave us the local info (where to go for good value and quality and more importantly where to avoid) and was on hand to help with excursions and car hire. Amilia was able to facilitate a late check out which was super as we had a late flight.
The roof terrace has a hot tub and loungers - a pool would be nice but I knew this before booking so it’s not a complaint but a comment.
Lovely toiletries too.
The kitchen is basic but adequate.
There is not a view to the caldera from the house but there is from the roof - again not a deal breaker and just a comment.

Perfect location away from the manic bustle of Oia
Beautiful place perfect for us as we had a 1 year old child with us.
The staff went above and beyond, Fernando was lovely. We had a pram with us which turned out to be unsuitable for Santorini's cobblestone streets and Vira loaned us her child's childcarrier. Lifesaver! Thankyou x

Great location for Fira, rooms were clean,bright and welcoming. The private terrace was fantastic with beds, chairs, tub and great views over Fira and Cadera.
The host was exceptional, nothing was a problem for her.
Would not hesitate to return to The Olive Caves if we ever return to Santorini.

We had the most fabulous time staying here. I cannot fault anything. Amalia was amazing, anything we needed, she was able to provide for us. I made a mistake in booking the number of people for the room but Amalia couldn't have been more helpful or kind in rectifying my mistake. The Gold Cave house was stunning, we all loved the rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi. It was very comfortable and private for sunbathing. The surrounding area was also silent at night so we all slept amazingly. The air conditioning was fabulous, very strong and worked excellently. The walk down to the centre of town was manageable, up and down a slight hill but we didn't mind. It is so close to all the restaurants and shops, but still far enough away and high enough to have a lovely view of the sea. The small kitchen suited us perfectly as we had a coffee machine and small facilities to make snacks. The place was also spotless with fabulous clean white towels. If I was coming back to Santorini I would definitely stay here again, no questions asked. Amalia also kindly posted an item I forgot all the way back to Ireland, I really appreciated this. I would definitely love to come back and stay here soon !

Beautifully appointed apartment conveniently located near the center of Fira, with Jacuzzi on the rooftop to relax in at the end of the day. Daily cleaning service.
I wish my question regarding parking (which was asked through email as well as SMS sent to the host Vasilis' cell phone number) were answered before our arrival. We had some trouble finding a place to temporarily park our car for the key-handover. Our host Vasilis seemed not familiar with the check-in process and was not sure what information he needed. Also he indicated that we could park the car at the top of the driveway, but when we did so we were told off by a very displeased neighbor. We did eventually find out that there is a public parking lot close by so it was not a issue
