I loved the out of town location and especially the way it blended in with the forest. Breakfast was simple and good. I loved the personal touch by both Fernanda and Diego. They even kept me company during breakfast and they provided good, honest advice on area locations and food. It was the hosts and environment that made the experience for me, and it didn't hurt that I nearly had the place to myself.
I can't say there was anything I didn't like. Considering the hosts are running this place on their own, and working other jobs, along with the always changing jungle habitat, it is understanding the property upkeep is a challenge. Typically, I would expect to see trails cleared of branches and other trash cleaned up. Personally though, I loved the overgrown and natural look, which also made for better wildlife observations.

We had an amazing stay there. The location was very convenient because, on the one hand, it was in a calm location in the jungle, but, on the other hand, it was only a few minutes' ride from Tulum, which is a great location for visiting attractions in the Yucatán. After a long, tiring day of sightseeing, you can come back and relax by the pool in a peaceful and quiet jungle setting.
But the best thing of all was the host! We spoke a lot and got so much interesting and helpful information to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Thank you very much!
The breakfasts were great, too, and very authentic.
The humidity can be very high, but there is a fan and air conditioning in the room, so it's not a big issue.

"We had an excellent time at Casa Tzalam, located inside the Jungle but just few minutes drive to the town. Fernanda and Diego made us feel home and helped with everything. We will comeback for sure!"
