The room was a great size, clean and cosy with the benefit of a sink to wash face and brush teeth without leaving the room. Wonderful view of the bay and you could hear the penguins at night! 5 minute walk to the historical district which we loved.
The staff of the accommodation sent me about 10 lengthy messages with instructions, rules and information prior to arriving at the accommodation. It was pretty full on and overwhelming.

Quirky decor. Love the house plants and massage chair with a view of sea. Great games room for kids.
Great location close to brewery, shops, cafes. Loved Oamaru!
It is a guesthouse backpackers so shared communal areas but we stayed one night in winter and barely saw another person

Clean and tidy. Lock systems made you feel very safe. Good instructions before and during stay.
Far too many signs, instructions and rules everywhere. Too many to read and follow.
