Laurieton Hotel

Room was freshly completely renovated. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Great food at the bistro.

Didnt "not like" anything but some suggestions. As mentioned, freshly renovated. We even suspect it may have been finished the morning we arrived as there was builders dust on the floor and tape on the bathroom mirror helping support it until the wall glue went off. The new bed was on castors on a newly laid faux timber floor so when sitting up in bed, the bed rolled away. Suggest castor cups to prevent that. The beautifully renovated bathroom had no shelf to hold a toiletries bag. The new bathroom door is likely to swell very quickly from the splashed water and condensation from the shower - perhaps inexpensive shower wall lining from bunnings might prevent that. Somewhere to put the electric jug near a power point? Maybe a shelf over the bar fridge and a fixed power board rather than an extension cord on the floor? We were only there for an overnight stay so our room was designed for that - rooms 1 and 2 only have a bed and a bathroom. If you have a choice, book room 1 as you have an outdoor covered area overlooking a carpark to use. Room 2 has no outdoor area and looks at a wall 1 metre (across a common walkway) from the window so could be claustrophobic for some. Rooms 3 to 8 are double sized and still under renovation so not sure of final layout but suspect may have a small lounge/dining area (perhaps sofabed??) But all have the outdoor area.
