A very pleasant place to stay in St Helens for a short visit

Easy to find, easy to check in, Deb was very friendly and extremely helpful with suggestions of places to eat or visit, room was clean and well appointed, air conditioner worked well, bathroom clean and functional, good provisions for tea and coffee, and biscuits were also provided, which is becoming unusual to find. Guest laundry and kitchen was a great feature, with laundry detergent provided.

Not a lot of improvement possible, as our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Maybe the bath-shower was a little awkward to use, but not really an issue.

Would definitely stay again....

The accommodation was very spacious, especially the bathroom which most accommodation skimps on. Everything needed for a short stay was there.

Probably personal preference but we like a soft mattress topper, the bed was a bit firm for us....

Lovely place nice and quiet.

The rooms where a great size,beds comfortable.laundry facilities that guests could use with the powder supplied.owner very helpful in giving us information about where to eat etc.

Would stay here again, definitely.

Easy checkin after hours was no issue. Excellent host. Felt very welcome. Very clean, cool artwork, great amenities provided. Very quiet too. Excellent place to stay.

My bed was a bit hard, but my Dad in the next room said he had the best mattress and the best sleep!

Very pleased with this accommodation

Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Very well furnished and equipped. Newly renovated. Host was welcoming, friendly and informative. Would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness, comfort

It was so clean and comfortable. There was plenty of parking space. Especially, it was great that the staff kindly answered the various questions several times before arrival. Thank you.

There were almost no inconveniences. However, it would have been more fantastic if there was a kitchen.

New and modern, spacious, outdoor sitting are, kitchen and laundrette available, very clean , Attila was super helpful and friendly

It was very noisy unfortunately and not dark enough as the second small window had no blinds so this is why 9 and not 10 points. Also we are not big fans of having the sink in the room but that’s a minor personal issue

Perfect place to stop over.

A perfect place to stop over while traveling through Tassie. Our host was great and paid attention to detail. We arrived late due to our plane, but a note was left for us, SMS was sent, phone calls were made - they really went out of their way to accommodate us. We are grateful.

Looking forward to staying there again!

The reviews of this motel ring true- the manager, Atilla, and the staff are so friendly and helpful!! If you're after a quiet place to stay (although it is very close to the centre of St Helen's), with good accessibilty to the rooms (our bathroom also had a walk-in shower) and spotlessly clean rooms, I fully recommend a stay here!! The bed was super comfy and once in the room, you can barely hear any noise from the rooms nearby or street noise, which my husband and I appreciated after a big day touring along the coast from Hobart.. we slept so well every night of our 3 night stay. We stayed in a double motel room and made use of the guest kitchen a couple of times- there wasn't an area to wash up in our room- and that worked fine. There is also a guest laundry which would be handy if you were staying for a while. We were really happy with our stay at Anchor Wheel Motel and would love to stay again sometime!

Due to a bit of a mix-up we couldn't access our room when we first arrived. The manager, Atilla, had been in touch the day before to say he wouldn't be at the motel the day we arrived and to tell us our room would be unlocked for us when we got there, and gave us clear directions as to which room was ours, but it was locked. The issue was sorted out quickly though and we didn't need to wait too long until a staff member arrived with a key. We were given some free drinks due to the issue, which was a nice gesture. Apart from that, it was fabulous!

Amazing. Excellent value for money and felt we were in the hands of someone who valued our stay.

The owner was friendly, helpful and informative. All that he recommended, places to visit and restaurants exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend staying, not just for the beautiful room, but for the integrity of the owner. Thank you for a great stay.

A great, no fuss, comfortable stay in a clean motel with good vibes around it.

The room was spacious as per your traditional country Australian motel. The parking area in front of the room was also very spacious. The room had recently been refurbished and was very clean. There is a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster and a great range of complimentary teas. Another nice touch was the provision of coffee bags, instead of your usual instant coffee. It's about a kilometre or so to the centre of St Helens, but I enjoyed the walk there and back. The owner/manager was most helpful and courteous and cares about the service he provides.

Wonderful place

We really enjoyed our one night stay at this place. Great location, beautiful place, recently renovated rooms, very clean and well equipped, we had everything we need for a short stop. The owner is a wonderful person, he could help you to plan your visit in the area and recommend nice places to eat.
