Location and price were amazing! Great water pressure, air conditioning worked amazingly well in August. We stayed here for 5 days. It was our home base for our day trips in/around Kyoto. We spent very little time in the room other than sleeping and showering, so it was perfect for us. If you want to hang in the room more, you might opt for something with more of a view.
Showers a bit small, but generally normal by Japanese standards.

The location couldn’t have been better. It was right in the middle of Gion and walkable to many of the key Kyoto spots. The subway and bus routes to all of the other major attractions was less than a 5 minute walk.
The rooms were large by Japanese standards and incredibly comfortable. The staff was polite and easy to communicate with.

The location was excellent for what we wanted to do.
The room had a musky mouldy smell, but you got use to it after a while. Aircon couldn't keep a consistant temp.

The location and the price.
The room was extremely cold and every night we had to go to the reception (there wasn’t a phone in the room) to ask them to regulate the temperature, since there was not a way to do it ourselves. The bathroom was so small that even taking a shower was difficult.
