Satisfied visitors

Spacious, light and airy. Good kitchen and equipment for self catering. Good value for the size of property.

Stairs to top floor steep - not suitable for the infirm. Limited parking. Shower in need of repair.

Pleasant

The house had plenty of room for the six of us. Plenty of hot water, the house was warm - great for the wet and windy day we had. The kitchen was lovely, plenty of plates etc Plenty of dining space Great open fire

It was 'tired'. The bathroom had a lot of limescale and the screen was grubby. It could all do with a freshen up. We had to move the settee and found a lot of dust and rubbish under there. The bedrooms could have done with a good dusting too. House is very noisy due to the lack of carpets Could do with more seating in the lounge - only 5 seats and there were 6 of us, and the house can take more. Take out the piano and add another 2 seater perhaps? His would also allow for some more light to come into the room.

Dirty unclean house for a family to stay in

Large house in a location that gave easy access to lots of places to visit

The house was dirty. Greasy kitchen doors and handles, floors not washed, sand on sofa, no pillow protectors and the pillows were dirty and old. Had to wash cooking trays that had been left in oven unwashed. BBQ unusable unless we wanted to risk our health. No washing line, just a broken bit of old rope tied between two trees. Couldn't use the garden as seats all covered in cobwebs and dirty. Only enough seating for 5 people in the living room area, so 3 of us had to use kitchen chairs. Downstairs shower had mould in the corners and drain clogged so shower tray would fill up quickly when using shower. Bedding didn't look like it had been changed between us and the previous guests, or maybe the sheets just hadn't been ironed, its anyones guess. No clean linen to change beds. Dust and dirt behind and under furniture. Was expecting some toiletries but every bottle of hand soap had about an inch of soap in and hadn't been replaced. Thankfully shop is close so we could go buy toiletries, toilet paper, tea and coffee and other essentials. Did not expect to go on holiday and have to clean a house in order to be able to stay in it. First holiday to see family since 2019 and my mother could only stay 3 nights as she had just undergone cancer surgery and was worried about catching something. Considering covid is still spreading, I would have expected greater care to ensuring guest safety. I emailed Luke and was told the house had been rented out to workers due to cancelations, and that the cleaners only had 3 hours between guests so I could hardly expect the house to be given a deep clean. Maybe not a deep clean, but some level of basic cleaning I do expect. I was then told how I had gotten the house at a great rate for the week and if I wanted to book a house for the same week next year I would be paying nearly £400 more. Shouldn't matter how much we paid, the place should still be clean and usable. Plus at nearly £1800 its hardly a cheap week.

Great family weekend away for Easter.

Perfect location for exploring Exmouth and surrounding coast/countryside. Downstairs bedroom with en suite is perfect for anyone who finds stairs difficult.

It met our needs.

We had a problem working the oven, but the owner came over and we worked out what was wrong. Better instructions would help for future guests.

Overall very good but the cleanliness let it down

Amazing house, great value for money.

Sadly it could be a bit cleaner, very dusty window sills, shelves. Mould in the downstairs en suite shower. Fingerprints on kitchen cupboards, crumbs in the cutlery drawers, upstairs bathroom there were hairs in the bath plus scum/hairs in plug hole. No pillow protectors, bloodstain on one pillow. Lightbulb on landing not working, cooker hood in kitchen not working. so during covid times these things should be better.

Spacious family house with parking and garden.

Nicely modernised bright home with large rooms a very short walk from both shops,a park and the beaches and town centre.Two double (queen size beds)bed rooms,one twin,one single. One bathroom and one downstairs shower room-both modern with power showers. Kitchen overlooks and opens onto lovely patio.

Difficult to think of anything significant.

we had a good family holiday

Location was good - quiet neighbourhood and accesible to town and beach (in the car) and also near to Tesco supermarket and 2 petrol stations. The house was very roomy and generally had good facilities. Plenty of hot water - and the option for central heating if needed.

Could have been cleaner - we cleaned mould off the bathroom ceiling and felt the floors and rugs could have been cleaner. The stairs are quite narrow and steep - not necessarily suitable on the top floor for children although the view from there is good! The house wasn't as light and modern as the photos suggested.

Spacious and well equipped!

The house is well situated, about a mile from the town and beach. It is spacious & comfortable and has a lovely enclosed garden which we all enjoyed, especially the dog. The kitchen is very well equipped, with absolutely everything you could need. The whole house is a bit like an Aladdin’s den….. we never really knew what each cupboard or drawer would unveil! The hosts responded really promptly to our questions and we had no issues during our stay.

Nothing! Probably just worth a mention is that the stairs in the property are all wooden, with no carpet. Fine for us, but not for the dog… he’s not allowed upstairs, but can be a bit inquisitive! It is fine as there is a door separating the hallway and stairs from the main living areas so you can easily restrict access.

Spacious, enjoyable, perfect location

Lots of space, dishwasher, lovely shower. Great value for money. Perfect location for Exmouth and exploring the Jurassic Coast 👍 also great secure garden for dogs and children

Lovely much needed break

This was a lovely comfortable house, with all we needed. Nice large space with good garden, washing machine dishwasher and 2 bathrooms. We were very comfortable here, had some lovely beach days( walked almost every day, and near shops , Tesco and Lidl. Bedrooms roomy and clean, nice bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Would definitely come again, many thanks to owner.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay

Our 4 night stay was exactly what we were looking for .. a family get together with our dogs allowed too. Hamilton house is a beautiful property.. a little tired and could do with a bit of a revamp, only 6 of us in an advertised 10 person house and the be honest we struggled with the lounge area in the evening to get all of us seated but that would be our only negative comment.

Passable

Shower was hot and quite powerful. Kitchen fairly well equipped.

Stained mattress protectors and old, well-used bedding - we went straight out and bought all new. In some areas there was a distinct lack of cleanliness. Lounge window blocked by an upright piano, contrary to publicity photo, meaning when seated you could only see sky and the roofs of houses opposite, plus it limited the light coming in. Conversely the downstairs bedroom, used because of disability, had a half glazed door with no blind, meaning the light woke us up early every morning. The house often felt cold despite the heating. I don't like to be negative but I have to be truthful. This property is probably fine in a warm summer but not in a cold April. We were very disappointed and left 2 days early.

Facilities brilliant, layout brilliant, bedding and towels spotless, beds comfy. Showers powerful and hot.

The long walk up the hill from the sea front. Not a moan really. We chose the location and we feel fitter for it
