Built in 1955, this inviting home has been lovingly brought up to date. The large bedroom offers a queen sized bed , a desk for your laptop or reading. In the living room, a full size sleeper sofa and a generous window seat easily accomodates overnight guests or afternoon naps. Throughout, large windows and glass paneled doors fill interiors with natural light. Brick paver area also includes a patio set which accommodates up to six people. We had a wonderful time at your cottage, it had everything we needed. We loved being so close to town and enjoyed walking to see the Christmas lights.

My husband and I stayed at this adorable cottage from 12/28 to 12/30, 2023. This little house is stocked with everything! It is within walking distance of downtown shops and restaurants which is handy because it is very hard finding parking in downtown Mount Dora. John, the property host, was more than helpful and responded right away to all communication. Everything was in perfect working order. We loved this immaculate, beautifully decorated house! It is roomier than it appears on the outside. It has a spacious bedroom with a super comfortable queen bed. There’s a window seat in the living room that serves as a double bed as well. The cottage was immaculately clean, too. Music was playing when we arrived, making it so welcoming. We didn’t cook or grill out on the patio since we chose to take advantage of the area restaurants during our short stay. But the kitchen is equipped with everything you can imagine (except for food and drinks of course). We ate at Pisces Rising Restaurant one night (delicious!) and at the Frog and Monkey another night. I’m not a french fry fan but if all fries were as good as the ones at the Frog and Monkey, I would be a french fry freak! We found the Highland Street Cafe to be the perfect breakfast spot. We strolled through so many fun shops, and parks, and down by beautiful Lake Dora. The Dickerman Cottage is the perfect place to call home while visiting Mount Dora. We wold love to book this cottage again and hopefully stay longer next time.

We enjoyed our stay at Dickerman Cottage. When we entered the cottage there was music playing and the cottage has such a quaint and homey feeling. The location was within walking distance to all the downtown shops and restaurants which we frequented. The town really holiday festive. We will definitely be returning

We were thrilled with the Dickerman Cottage at Mt Dora, Fl. The cleanliness was immaculate and the furnishings made us feel at home. Everything was as described by the owner, John. Downtown was just a short walk which was great because of the town’s. limited parking. Great Experience!

Check in was easy and our host was wonderful. We loved this cozy cottage just a few blocks (nice walk) from downtown. It was the perfect little anniversary for us. We hope to be back, we fell it love with this cottage. Pictures just don't do justice to all the little details that make this place special and one of a kind!

This property is the coolest little house we’ve rented. Went for a long weekend for our 30th anniversary and could not have asked for a better property or host. Clean, well equipped, great location! Very pleased and hope to be back. Mt Dora is a cool town. Fl Natives and never been there. Host was excellent with communication and updates. Even left us a gift since it was our anniversary. Highly recommend this home.

The Cottage is fabulous ,even better than in the pictures. Its just a short walk to downtown restaurants and shops and had everything we needed for the perfect get away. Nice house near downtown Mt. Dora. Husband could walk to the local coffee shop each morning. Nice back patio. Our teenage girls loved the large window seat in the living room. A couple negatives. There are shutters on the living room windows that only cover the bottom half. Our girls were not comfortable sleeping on the sleeper sofa without proper window coverings. We had to move the sofa mattress into the bedroom for our stay. The master bed was very firm. Overall, it was a good stay.

The cottage is quaint and charming. It has everything a couple needs. It is located close to historic Mt. Dora downtown and served as a base for exploring. The weather was great. My only suggestion is 2 ply toilet paper.

John’s well-equipped cottage is nestled in the perfect, peaceful neighborhood and also an easy walk to all downtown Mt. Dora has to offer. John is a wonderful person and host - just a joy to encounter. I came for a solo art and rest retreat and the cottage was perfect for me - comfy bed, lovely courtyard for private outdoor space, well-stocked kitchen that met all my needs. Just a gem of a place - thank you, John!
