Lionheart Guest House

The grounds are lovely and quiet, something you don’t get in a hotel or motel. Our room was clean and had everything we required. Our hosts were very pleasant. The breakfast was tasty and served promptly with a smile.

We felt the bed was too firm. Mattresses are, of course, a personal preference. Some people like firm mattresses.

Location (close enough to walk to everything), cleanliness, breakfast (variety and delicious), friendliness of owners, free parking.

No small fridge in the room.

Comfy room in a nice house on a large plot.

Lions Head is a very small & quiet place, with only a couple of dining options. Nothing after 9pm that we found. Communication with the host was poor/slow, and the only reason we were able to enter our room at all (one hour after arrival and because the code provided to us didn’t work as it should’ve) was because another guest managed to contact the host via phone on our behalf. Also our toilet flush didn’t work; I messaged but nothing happened. I left some chocolate milk in the fridge, and it was removed within 18 hours; presumably by either a thief or an over-exuberant cleaner. The room had a fan only, and in July-2023 the nights were very warm (interestingly, the upper landing outside our room had chilly but noisy aircon).
