We did not use the restaurant, except for coffee croissant in the morning as takeaway.
Everything we needed for a short stay really. The reception staff are always friendly and courteous, and this is why we choose The Oaks when we stay in Wellington.
The room was clean on inspection, except that I always look at the tapware and shower trays. There was evidence of black mould on the sealant and some pink bacteria, but overall not bad.
The air con unit in conjunction with the air vent was crucial to the quality of air in this inside room. We checked the filters of air con ( as my partner is a technician) and they were blocked. As we didn't want to be breathing in dusty air, he took them out and washed them in the shower and replaced them. The aircon unit was in need of maintenance as it needed a thorough clean out of the fins within the unit, and we brought this up when checking out. The aircon technician was just signing in, as we were leaving, so obviously this was scheduled, and hopefully your units are receiving regular and timely cleaning that tackles more than surface filters.
