Great time in an exceptional property. Ski in/ski out was a little difficult but doable. Any problems w/ the house were quickly taken care of. Only remaining issue is that the downstairs king bed needs a new mattress.

We loved the location of this property, walking distance to restaurants and activities for the kids. The bunk room was perfect for our kids and our friends' kids to stay in. The house was clean and well organized which made our stay easy. We'd definitely go back!

The home is beautiful. That said, there are things that should
be fixed for such an expensive rental unit:
1. Upon arrival we smelled natural gas. The fireplace on the main level has a gas leak, and the property manager confirmed that other guests have complained about it as well. I used the gas key to turn off the gas to the fireplace.
2. The elevator door on floor 2 does not open. The magnetic lock will not release.
3. The refrigerator does not get cold enough to safely store food. The property manager also said that the owners are aware of the problem, and are waiting for a new refrigerator... well you should tell your guests beforehand, so they don't end up throwing food away.
4. The property manager let himself into the garage (to put the trash out on the street) without alerting us that he was coming ahead of time.
None of these issues ruined our stay at the property, but the property manager seems to have a "good'nuf" attitude managing a very expensive rental property.

Senior Trip
The property is awesome! Two Dad's and eight graduating seniors enjoyed the property. Ample space to spread out and have alone time if necessary. The inventory of pots, pans, glasses, etc. is fantastic. They have everything you may need and more. Location is perfect and boys really enjoyed the gondoloa that takes you into town for free. Felt isolated with the benefit of being in Mountain Village or Telluride quickly. Stay could not have been better.

Tomboy retreat
Having rented some expensive properties a number of times through VRBO my experience has been that you really don’t know what you’ve rented until you’re there and see it. While Tomboy retreat is undoubtedly expensive, I felt that my family and friends (who brought 3 young children) all had a wonderful time. The property is in a great location, very well kept and well supplied as far as the kitchen was concerned (pots, pans, utensils). The intermediary service Invited Home was responsive and helpful.

Not the same as before
We stayed at this property 2 years ago and the experience this time was not the same. We booked this again since our last stay was amazing. The location is great, though you do have a half-mile walk uphill to get to the village plaza and gondola.
The bones of the property are still good. Plenty of space for 2 families traveling together.
Problems not encountered before:
1. Property Management had us ship groceries to a Ship It office in Telluride. We had to drive to town and package was damaged upon receipt. Last time, they received our package at their office and brought it to the property before we arrived. Not this time however and I’m not sure why.
2. Property needs refreshing and updates. Many door and sliders don’t lock. Decor is getting dated. Some faucet handles feel loose. Appliances are old (dishwasher door just falls when opened).
3. Owner now stores a car in one garage bay which was not the case last time. You can only put 1 car inside the garage now.
4. Found a baby bottle with curdled and moldy milk wedged in a bed mattress. There were chips and trash in the couch cushions. I expect the cleaning fee to mean that our mess is cleaned but also that the property is clean for us.
Did not detract much from our vacation but we expected more for paying nearly $14k for the week.

Wonderful experience
Great experience, beautiful place. Even better than the pictures. We had a wonderful 5 days skiing and snowmobiling. Playing pool, hanging out in the hot tub, fully stocked kitchen. This place is a definite for us again in the future.

50th Anniversary Family Vacation
This was the perfect place to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our family (group of 8 with ages ranging from 10 to 75) and share with them our favorite part of Colorado. The house is beautiful with gorgeous views. We found it to be clean and well-stocked with necessities, and the communications with the property manager were always helpful. We loved spending time relaxing there, enjoying the mountains and ambiance, as well as family games of pool and soaking in the hot tub. It was a also great spot for taking off on adventures - hiking, 4X4 scenic tour, river rafting, and more. We enjoyed great restaurants in Mountain Village and Telluride and the convenience of the gondola. Loved it all!

The place was great!
My group had a great time. The home was everything as advertised. A great place for a large group with plenty of space but also very comfortable. The kitchen was fully loaded for any kind of chef, which made cooking easy and enjoyable. I would stay here again, and recommend to anyone. The home was fun and accessible.

Great Large enough for each family to have their space but large room could accommodate everyone
Great location on cul-de-sac for little kids to ride bikes. Able to hike to free gondola to Telluride, in fact never drove our cars the whole week...

WAY better than the pictures show!
The pictures for this home are fantastic - but they truly don't do the home justice because it's even BETTER in person! There are windows, balconies and VIEWS in every direction! You're sitting right on top of a ski run (or golf course, in the summer) - we kept the shades and curtains open our entire stay. It was a lot of fun to sit on the balconies (there are several), drink our morning coffee (or Apres Ski cocktail) and watch the gondola...or the chairlifts...or the skiers...or the wildlife. You'll never run out of things to watch! The gondolas (there are two) are a short walk - or drive to FREE parking garage - away. Riding the gondolas all the way into Historic Telluride was one of the first things we did - and it was super cool! The house is set up so that two bedroom suites are on the lowest level (with the hot tub outside), the master is an ENTIRE FLOOR of it's own, and then the loft - which has it's own loft - is on the very top. The Loft area is a kid's paradise - even teenagers! And I can't say enough wonderful things about the Master - it's gigantic, has two balconies, soaking jacuzzi tub, two-headed shower that's also a steam shower. I could go on...The kitchen, dining and living room areas are all situated on one floor, so everyone can gather together (there's plenty of room), cook, socialize, watch the huge, flatscreen TV. And then go their separate ways: play pool on one level, hang out in the hot tub, chill in individual ensuite bedrooms. Lots of options. The elevator is also super cool. We didn't want to be "lazy" and use it all the time, but it was great helping us get luggage to different floors - so we weren't dinging up the beautiful hardwood floors and stairs. And, honestly, after being outside hiking in high altitude all day, it was nice to take it up and down to the hot tub. The house was extremely well-appointed, especially the kitchen. The only thing we noticed missing was pasta bowls and salad bowls. There were lots of smaller bowls, but we like pasta and salad in larger bowls - just a personal preference. Otherwise, there was plenty of everything - even real espresso cups to go with the espresso maker! The management company was so easy and friendly to work with - I will definitely look for properties they represent in the future! I'm also going to recommend them - and this property - to everyone I know!

Wonderful home that accomodates all ages.
Every detail in this house was considered regarding furnishings and amenities. The beds were comfortable, the hot tub inviting and the kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils. There are lots of stairs but the elevator is a nice solution for moving luggage around or for the older folks. Location was great. The gondolas and Dial a Ride made getting around Mountain Village and to Telluride very easy. We recommend it for a large group and would rent it again. The property management group are very nice to work with and the house is well maintained and clean.

Well appointed home ideal for family or large group
This property was very well appointed and the layout of the rooms is perfect if you have a large group and want to insure having both large gathering places and a lay out suitable for privacy. The view is beautiful and the location a short walk from Mountain Village and the Gondola was perfect. I have only 2 observations on things that could have been improved, but one is out of the owner's control. First, we were exposed to the near constant din of construction noise during daylight hours from the construction of the new golf practice areas directly in front of the property. I am sure it will be great when its finished but when you go to the mountains for peace and quiet its a bummer. Second item is that the kitchen is stocked with nice dishes and cookware but absolutely nothing else--we rent houses a lot and are used to coming with our own food but I have never rented a place that contained almost no other pantry items except some old dried herbs. We even had to buy salt and pepper. So come prepared or eat out. There was no advertisement of these items and it certainly did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the property but thought others might appreciate a heads up. Telluride is a great town and I cannot wait to visit in winter and carve up some of the slopes we hiked.

Amazing house! Amazing views!
This home is everything you would want in a ski town! First of all it's huge! As some of our friends said, "The pictures don't do the place justice". The den and kitchen level is very large. The windows by the fireplace show stunning views of the "Coors Light" mountain...the opposite side is what's on the can and views of the slopes. . The kitchen is a nice size with a large Wolf range. Walk down a few steps from the den to the pool table room to the right that also has a TV. From there you walk down the staircase to the MASTER BEDROOM, all caps to express the size of the room/floor. It has a foyer! And private balcony. Down the stairs again to the 1st floor that has the two queen bed room and single King room. Also a nice size laundry room and access to the Hot tub. From the first floor you can walk up all those steps to the loft level above the den/kitchen level or just take the ELEVATOR! A savior of the legs after days of skiing. The loft is nice. It has a den and small balcony. The room itself has two bunk beds with twins on bottom and singles on top and TV. There is also a small loft inside the loft that has a single bed. Group of 13 slept comfortably with a little room to spare.
Ski in/Ski out depends on the skier. Best route is to walk out the front door, take a right and walk about 50 yards and you will see some trails you can ski down to the Chondala and Sinshine lifts. Total time from house to lift is about 3-5 minutes. Getting isn't as easy but can be done on Nordic trails or use Dail A Ride. Lunch and Après skiing at Tomboy Tavern and Gorrono was great! Would recommend dinner at Black Iron Kitchen in the village or Brown Dog pizza in town and for a little snack check out Baked In Telluride for awesome doughnuts and pastries. From the skiing and scenery to dining and house, this place is unbelievable! Recommend to all

Tomboy surprises
My overall impression of the property is good, not great. First our car would not fit in the garage. We have a Toyota tundra. No one ever told us that there would be a locked motorcycle in the way on one side and cabinets in the way on the other side. It is a bummer to have to park in the driveway especially when it is snowing. Second the refrigerator froze all of our food no matter what setting we put it on. Third, the hot tub was odorous and no chlorine was available to treat or shock the water. There was a tree branches in the way of opening the cover to the hot tub, so we could only open it half way. Fourth the markings on the stove and grill have rubbed off and it is difficult to know if they are on or off. Lastly the property is NOT ski in/out. We had plenty of snow while we were there but the access to the ski run is difficult to see, not marked, and not groomed so not an easy task. We were told to call dial a ride, but often they are busy and didn't answer the phone. Therefore we would have to clean the snow off of the truck and drive ourselves to ski access. Many of the amenities of the property are outstanding, but at this price I would expect more. We have plenty of choices when renting in Mountain village. This set up with no garage and no ski access made this rental very unpleasant.

Wow! Couldn't have picked a better spot!
We booked this home to celebrate my father-in-law's 70th birthday. There were 12 of us there ranging in age from 3 to 70 and we all had a great time. The home is beautiful, fully loaded and very comfortable. It was right on the golf course and a 15-minute walk to the free gondola. being able to stay together in such a lovely place made our celebration even better. I highly recommend the Tomboy Retreat!

Incredible House and Location
The Tomboy Retreat is about as good as it gets when it comes to a vacation retreat in the Telluride area. The home is conveniently located along the Telluride golf course and is a short walk away from the free gondola that will connect you to the town. There is also complimentary transportation to and from the town if you'd rather not deal with the walk and altitude. The Tomboy Retreat has plenty of room for up to 15 people, and even has an elevator! It is truly a luxurious home for an affordable price in an incredible town.
