Disappointing

Very clean Good location

When I booked, my amenity list mentioned a private bathroom and a kitchenette complete with coffee (important to me!) BUT I got a king room which was exactly that … a bedroom with a king bed. There wasn’t even a box of tissues in the room, let alone any coffee. The promised Netflix didn’t work and the bathroom was shared and up a flight of stairs. There was no lock on our bedroom door but, as it turned out, that didn’t matter since there was a mistake made and we didn’t receive the door code to get in the house, let alone our suite, until well after the check in time. Because of this, we arrived after 9 pm as we had plans with friends, and were greeted but nothing was shared regarding the use of the kitchen and so on. Our room was very chilly and we were up early and packed up and left in search of coffee. I did not feel like we got good value for the cost.

Une belle maison mais qui manque d’intimité

L’emplacement, certes un peu loin du centre ville mais dans un quartier charmant ! Le gros point fort c’est le lit, il était absolument incroyable ! Que ce soit le matelas ou la literie j’ai rarement testé un lit aussi agréable ! La tv avec Netflix inclu est très apprécié ! Hôtes accueillants qui m’ont permis d’utiliser le micro-onde et qui a toujours répondu à mes questions ! La salle de bain commune était fonctionnelle et bien propre.

Le manque d’intimité. Il manque cruellement un rideau devant la porte pour se sentir bien. Je pouvais voir les gens entrer alors que j’étais dans mon lit… De plus, aucune bouilloire dans la chambre, ça aurait été super d’en avoir une pour se faire du thé.

Good home stay, but it's not really advertised as a home stay.

I likes the cleanliness and the quiet.

I wasn't a fan of not having a bathroom close to my room. I was surprised by that.

It was okay. It served our purpose.

Having a kitchen.

Only provided one bath towel per person, for six day stay. There was only two of us. Kitchen was not equipped with kitchen towels, no clean sponge to wash dishes ( (no dishwasher), no cleaning supplies such as broom and dustpan. We had to get a corkscrew, which we left there. They advertised a bed and a futon couch that opens to a bed, but when we got there, it was not made up and we were told it would be extra. Also, the communication was not the best.

Clean, comfortable but needs more amenities.

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The shared bathroom was very nice with shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and hairdryer.

Lack of privacy outside of our room. No coffee, tea or water available. No microwave. Not enough facecloths and no hand towels. Scented fabric softener used on bedding. No lighting on entrance stairs.

Great location near Depature Bay. Beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset from nearby Neck Point Park.

Perfect for getting a good night's sleep as long as you put not too much value on warm welcomes.

Exceptionally clean, very comfortable and large bed, spacey room, very quiet, proper blankets (not the layer of sheets around an "open" blanket you get so often), fridge (shared and no freezer but clean), surroundings (10 min walk to a park directly at the water, beautiful scenery with sunset).

The host responded quickly to our messages but upon arrival we weren't greeted at all, we weren't even sure if the host was another guest we ran into when openening the front door because there was no "hello" or "welcome" at all and we haven't been shown around where the facilities are located etc. The first and only direct communication was "please take your shoes off". But since we weren't there for having long conversations, it's okay though. You can't lock the room from the outside when you are leaving (but of course from the inside). The shared bathroom was upstairs accessible from the private living/dining room of the hosts. We'd recommend the accommodation though.

Comfortable but I would not stay here again.

Immaculately clean and well presented high quality room. Bathroom is shared and upstairs from the room but again quality and good shower with lots of hot water.

The information in the room is out of date, I was looking forward to visiting the local pub for dinner (10 mins walk away) but it was closed and in conversation with the local security guys it had been for sometime. The nearest other restaurants were a 10 minute drive away. There is no lock on the room access which is a glass paned double door so when late guests arrived and put the hall light on I was woken up by the bright light and commotion.

We enjoyed a quiet night in this beautiful house. Our hosts were nice and welcoming.

The house and our hosts were great, everything very clean and tidy and the house tastefully furnished. The view from the deck is superb.

Clean queen bedroom in a beautiful home and fine neighbourhood overlooking Nanaimo Bay. Coco and Frank were extremely hospitable letting you use their kitchen and dining room with spectacular views. Coco even served us coffee before leaving. Great stay....highly recommendable. Jorg from Germany

We stayed one night and left first thing and wont’t go back.

The view was nice. Unit was clean and nicely decorated.

It should be advertised as mobility challenged. The suite was on the main floor and the shared washroom on the upper level beside the host’s bedroom. There was no outside lock on the suite so you couldn’t leave valuables in the room. Wifi did not work. They offered coffee but you had to make it in their kitchen. Hosts were just a little too close. They offered a frig on the main level but it would of been nice to maybe have it stocked with some water in bottles. No glasses in washroom. They had to been found in the host kitchen along with water if you wanted.

This property was incorrectly advertised, I did not know that it was a Private residence, when I arrived because of mobility issues we could not stay there. The hostess advised me to contact Booking.com and she would authorize Booking .com to reimburse us 50% of the fee. Please contact Neckpoint Treasure, and make the correction. As you can see I do a lot of motel/hotel bookings with your company and would appreciate your assistance. Thank you very much...

We would book again only if we could be assured of a private bathroom and a larger room

It would have been helpful to know in the booking.com description that: 1. this is a house and the room you are booking is small, up the stairs, located next to an office and located in the family home 2. there were no lights on at the house when we arrived around 9:30pm (I had sent an email to say that we would check-in late) 3. the room was small for the price and if there had been another guest in one of the other available rooms in the house we would have been sharing a bathroom, we would not have been happy with that - it wasn't obvious when I booked that the bathroom would be shared 4. the couple are very pleasant - they had to open up the door for us as the code did not work so we are reliant on them to let us in 5. the booking.com description needs to be updated to indicate that it is a house with a shared bathroom, weak wifi and street parking 6. we would stay there again but only if we could have the downstairs room (which is MUCH bigger than where we stayed) and only if we could have a private bathroom thanks!

Nice and cozy homestay, just the right place to get good rest. The location is not very close to the city centre, which is a rather good thing. There are many very scenic parks nearby. Friendly and helpful owners.

Great price and central to nanaimo

Beautiful area. Easy drive to everywhere. Super nice hosts.

The bathroom on second floor. Essentially in the main area of the house which belongs to owners. So not ideal for people that want privacy. We didn't mind but I know some people wouldn't like.

beautiful room and view with the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in ages! the hosts are friendly and accommodating for every need, I would definitely stay there again
